Deborah Lippmann is the go-to manicurist for the most fashionable magazines and renowned fashion houses from Vogue, InStyle, W, Vanity Fair and Elle to Donna Karan, Rodarte, Narciso Rodriguez, Marchesa and Versace to name a few. Deborah’s success as one of the most sought-after manicurists in the world, as well as an innovative entrepreneur, has an interesting origin in her passion for and pursuit
of music. Her first love was music, and with dreams of becoming a jazz singer, Deborah belted out sultry tunes in smoky clubs by night while working various jobs by day. Eventually, Deborah enrolled in cosmetology school where she discovered a hidden talent and her second love – nails. Living in Arizona at the time, her manicure chair quickly became a favorite of Phoenix socialites due to her charismatic personality and refined expertise. Setting her sights on something bigger, Deborah headed to New York City. After working her magic on the hands of an Alluremagazine editor, Deborah’s career took off. Dubbed “one of the best manicurists in the country” by Allure and a “mega manicurist” by Vogue, Deborah found herself busier than ever, booking magazine shoot after magazine shoot and celebrity after celebrity. Working closely with some of the biggest names among celebrities, editors, fashion designers and models, Deborah quickly identified the need for a diverse range of nail colors and luxury care products, which was missing in the market. It was at that moment that Deborah set out to create her own line of high-quality nail lacquers and treatments with her unique fashion point of view. Deborah has since collaborated with Sarah Jessica Parker, Cher, Narciso Rodriguez and other A-list celebrities in the fashion, music and entertainment world to create a series of signature nail shades. Now with an assortment of over fifty long-wearing shades, along with specialty treatments for nails, hands and feet, Deborah Lippmann nail products are frequently featured in top magazines, spotted backstage at fashion shows and adorn the world’s most notable women. Kate Winslet, Reese Witherspoon, Renee Zellweger and Penelope Cruz were all manicured by Deborah and wore her nail colors when they accepted their Oscars. In 2010, Deborah was honored as Nail Visionary at Cosmoprof Worldwide, the beauty industry’s most respected trade show – her authority in Nail was undeniably established. With the explosive growth of the brand and further leveraging her color expertise , Deborah is venturing into a new category, Lip, with the exciting debut of her original lipsticks in a line of Lip and Nail Duet sets for fall 2012.
