About me
Have you ever stopped for a moment, looked around you and thought, “there must be more to life than this?” I did. I just knew that I was not ready to settle for the grind of a standard desk job. It was time to expand my horizons and experience what the world has to offer and I started looking at various international opportunities, finally settling on teaching English in Thailand.
After going through the standard testing and preparation requirements I boarded a plane with a mix of fear and excitement. I soon realised however that the day to day challenges of working abroad are conveniently glossed over by the marketing material back home. Simple things I used to take for granted, like what to eat, where to live and asking for help now proved to be incredibly hard.
Determined to make this a success, I decided to immerse myself in the culture and gradually found my feet. I started learning the language and soon found myself navigating the lifestyle like a local.
These days I assist fellow South Africans to take the leap and experience this lifestyle for themselves. My vast knowledge and background on preparing for the journey, the nuances of the cultures, the most convenient ways to travel and the best places to stay and work allow me to assist others in their preparations. I am passionate about assisting others in embracing this opportunity themselves, and dedicated to making sure it is as simple and easy as possible.
