The department is dedicated to provide excellent clinical services, high standard of training, and innovative researches. Nowadays, the Department of Psychiatry has 3 major divisions, which are general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and clinical psychology. In the near future, we plan to establish 2 more divisions, which are geriatric psychiatry and consultation liaison psychiatry. T
he Department comprises 26 psychiatrists, 11 clinical psychologists, 4 social workers, 2 psychiatric nurses and postgraduate students distributed across 3 divisions. In the area of training and education, the Department has a wide array of educational experiences both for undergraduate and postgraduate students. We provides clinical learning experience for Siriraj students as well as students from other part of the country. For our services, we have full range of clinical programs for patients with psychiatric disorders. We have 20 acute inpatient beds, outpatient services, emergency psychiatry services and expert consultation services to medically ill patients with co-morbid psychiatric disorders. Services are delivered in a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, coordinated and cost-effective manner met the needs of patients, families and the community. We run a collaborate in a wide number of multi and inter-disciplinary research. We also actively collaborate with other departments, national and international academic institutes, as well as patients, families and communities. Summarily, the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital seeks to engage in a broad spectrum of psychiatric education, research and clinical services of the highest quality.
