NASA Begins Critical Testing for future Artemis Missions 🚀
On October 17, 2023, NASA successfully conducted the initial hot fire test of a new RS-25 engine series. This marked the commencement of the final certification testing phase before the production of an updated set of engines for the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, which will play a crucial role in powering upcoming Artemis missions to the Moon and beyond. The series of 12 tests, scheduled to continue into 2024, will take place at NASA's Stennis Space Center, located near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, on the Fred Haise Test Stand.

These tests are a vital milestone for Aerojet Rocketdyne, the lead contractor responsible for the SLS engines, a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies. The successful completion of these tests is integral to the production of engines that will propel the SLS rocket, starting with the Artemis V mission. Each Artemis mission will rely on four RS-25 engines and a pair of solid rocket boosters, collectively generating over 8.8 million pounds of thrust during liftoff. In line with the "test like you fly" principle, all 12 tests in this new series are designed to replicate real mission conditions and are essential for ensuring the reliability of the SLS rocket's engines.

Psyche Live Launch Coverage 🚀
On October 13, 2023, at 10:19 a.m. EDT, NASA's Psyche spacecraft embarked on its extraordinary journey to a one-of-a-kind metal-rich asteroid of the same name, positioned in the region between Mars and Jupiter within our solar system. Traveling a staggering distance of approximately 2.2 billion miles (3.6 billion kilometers) over nearly six years, Psyche's mission is to explore this intriguing celestial body. Scientists speculate that Psyche may comprise the remnant core of a planetesimal, primarily composed of iron-nickel metal. Instead of mining the ore, the mission will conduct in-depth studies from orbit, shedding light on the composition of Earth's own core.

Moreover, this pioneering mission will also feature NASA's DSOC (Deep Space Optical Communications) experiment, a cutting-edge laser communications system. DSOC will operate throughout the initial two years of Psyche's journey. The launch was executed from Kennedy's Launch Complex 39A and was coordinated by the Launch Service Program headquartered at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

NASA Revealing the OSIRIS-REx Asteroid Sample 🚀
On October 11, 2023, NASA's Johnson Space Center proudly hosted a special event unveiling the inaugural glimpse of the initial asteroid sample collected in space and successfully returned to Earth by the United States. The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft executed a remarkable mission to acquire samples from asteroid Bennu and safely brought them back to our planet, touching down in the Utah desert on September 24, 2023. Subsequently, these invaluable samples were meticulously transported to a state-of-the-art curation facility at the Johnson Space Center, where dedicated scientists meticulously opened the sample canister and conducted preliminary analyses. During this event, the scientific community shared the first captivating images and insightful findings obtained from these extraordinary samples.

OSIRIS REx Sample Return and Reveal B roll~orig 🚀
B-roll Description:

05:11:43
Engineers from the OSIRIS-REx Lockheed Martin team transport the spacecraft's science canister, meticulously enveloped in layers of Teflon sheeting, to the designated OSIRIS-REx clean room for curation. Throughout the process, the canister remains continuously surrounded by a flow of nitrogen to safeguard it against earthly contaminants, preserving the integrity of the sample for subsequent scientific analyses.

05:21:16
Collaborating teams of engineers and curation experts from Lockheed Martin and OSIRIS-REx position the science canister, cloaked in protective Teflon layers, within the specialized canister glovebox located in the OSIRIS-REx clean room.

(Note: The note about potential duplication around 5:40 remains unaltered, as specific details are not provided.)
