Green Island : What to do in Summer? Of course go to a beautiful little island to enjoy sunshine, marine life and food!

" Tiny Green Island takes about an hour to circumnavigate by scooter. The island is famous for its green mountains and plains, sandy white beaches and sparkling blue tropical water rich in colorful marine life. It is great for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and shell-collecting. " Website Famous Beaches in Asia ( such a grand name ) says so.
And.. I do agree!
I've been to Green Island several times before, the best thing for me is to rent a scooter ( you can find many scooter renting shops just beside the port ) and drive around the island, taking in beautiful natural sights from different angles.
Then, of course, delicious food and drinks. In the afternoon I'd go to do snorkeling, the marine life here is so prosperous that you'd really feel that it's some colorful park under the sea!
Later, you may do BBQ or go to the hot spring on the beach, relaxing in natural hot water swarming up from sea and looking at the brilliant stars just above your head.
As for accommodation, there are many stylish hostels or hotels lining along the coast, some are located in the inner island, if you prefer to relax outside of crowds, you might consider some farther away places to live, or go camping in the camping areas.

How to Get Here? Take train to Taitung Station, go on bus that goes to Fugang Port, then take boats from the port to Green Island !

Lin Sen Bei Lu has always been a mysterious area for most of the tourists in Taipei. It is made up of many special clubs where girls will accompany customers to sing, drink, earn tips, and sometimes more than this. VVG Something is a tiny bookshop hidden in a quiet alley near the bustling Zhongxiao Dunhua shopping area.
Do not expect the latest best sellers in this place, but a carefully selected collection of arts and crafts, fashion, photography or cooking books, with only one or two copies of each book (as much!).
The shop has also a selection of traditional toys, notebooks and drawing tools.

[Discover Taiwan] Hualien Baiyang Trail

Sakadang Trail is said to be the most famous trail in Taroko and most people choose it not because its convenience but also the natural scene. But, if you are more interesting in a trail which is not crowded with people and has its own mysterious view, then BaiYang trail will be your best choice.
Baiyang Waterfall Trail is characterized by the number of tunnels. Beginning with the entrance tunnel of 380 meters, Baiyang trail has 7 tunnels to pass through before you arrive the destination－Water Curtain.Total length of this trail is 2.1 KM, which means you have to take at least 2 hours to finish this adventure, but I can say, it’s worthy!

Take bus from Taiwan tourist shuttle bus to Tienhsiang station (the last station) and walk 900m.

[ Have A Fun Night! ] Sh*****ng Field : Do You Dare to Eat Shrimps you Caught by Yourself?

In Taiwan, you can find many indoor sh*****ng fields that looks like a big room with a swimming pool in the middle.
Here, you buy hours and get a fishing rod, then toss the bait into the water, and meanwhile you can drink beer, jeer and joke with your friends and have some snacks. When the fish line starts to twitch, you know you catch something --- The shrimp!
Shrimps here are generally very big ( sometime aggressive ), within one or two hours you might catch around 5 to 10 shrimps ( depend on your skill ), then, there are table and sink to let you cut the shrimps, and the BBQ oven beside will turn your shrimps into delicious and crispy meal!
However, the process is a bit cruel, people might feel bad about it. Do you really dare to eat shrimps caught by yourself? Last time when I went to sh*****ng field, I just couldn’t stand the squeaking and struggling of those purple Thai shrimps, not even mention penetrating them with an iron skewer!
So, there’s always and alternative option: just go sh*****ng but release the shrimps back into the water!
