Date: December 3-4, 2016 With over 300 participants from 14 international schools and national senior high schools. STMUN follows the THIMUN debate procedures.
The eighth annual session of Southern Taiwan Model United Nations (STMUN), the largest Model United Nations (MUN) conference in Southern Taiwan, will be hosted on December 3-4, 2016 at I-Shou International School. Co-hosted by three schools, I-Shou International School (IIS), Kaohsiung American School (KAS), and the International Bilingual School at Tainan Science Park (IBST), STMUN has grown to b
ecome the biggest international conference in southern Taiwan. We are excited to announce that this year we will host a brand new committee at STMUN, a middle school committee for seventh and eighth grade students. STMUN started out as a small training conference between KAS, IBST and IIS. We decided to expand the conference in 2013, where we included a total of six committees with over 150 delegates. Since 2013 the conference has grown in size and one additional committee has been added each year. We are proud to say that last year at KAS, we have reached over 220 delegates. After a long day of intense debate, STMUN will host a carnival featuring dinner, basketball games, hamster balls, and other activities. Hosted after sundown, it will be a night of popular music, carnival games, tumbles and screams in the hamster ball, and a lot of pictures at the photo booth. Don’t get the wrong idea though; the fun obviously isn’t limited to the carnival. Be ready to meet individuals with the same international perspective as you, and to share your unique experience with those in your committee. Enhance your interpersonal skills as you take stance for what your country believes in, and find common ground with students from all over the country.

Southern Taiwan MUN (STMUN) VIII is the eighth annual session of Southern Taiwan’s largest MUN conference with over 220 delegates and almost 300 participants in total from 14 schools. This year we hope to further expand the capacity of the conference by adding an additional committee to the standard set of committees – a middle school committee! We welcome and encourage middle school students to attend and challenge themselves to debates and prepare for future conferences. This year, STMUN VIII will be taking place at I-Shou International School in Kaohsiung on December 3rd and 4th, 2016. Invitations and student officer applications have been emailed to respective schools’ MUN directors. If your school would like to participate in the conference this December but has not received an invitation, please contact us at [email protected].
Looking forward to seeing you all in December!

❝Greetings everyone, my name is Chloe Oani and I'm a Sophomore at Taipei European School. I'm privileged to be co-chairing GA2 this year at STMUN 2014, and I am very excited to facilitate fruitful and constructive debate that this conference has the potential to offer! One of my favorite quotes is "Today you are you! Which is truer than true! there is no one alive who is you-er than you!" by Dr. Seuss, so I encourage all delegates to let their personalities shine!
