The eighth annual session of Southern Taiwan Model United Nations (STMUN), the largest Model United Nations (MUN) conference in Southern Taiwan, will be hosted on December 3-4, 2016 at I-Shou International School. Co-hosted by three schools, I-Shou International School (IIS), Kaohsiung American School (KAS), and the International Bilingual School at Tainan Science Park (IBST), STMUN has grown to b
ecome the biggest international conference in southern Taiwan. We are excited to announce that this year we will host a brand new committee at STMUN, a middle school committee for seventh and eighth grade students. STMUN started out as a small training conference between KAS, IBST and IIS. We decided to expand the conference in 2013, where we included a total of six committees with over 150 delegates. Since 2013 the conference has grown in size and one additional committee has been added each year. We are proud to say that last year at KAS, we have reached over 220 delegates. After a long day of intense debate, STMUN will host a carnival featuring dinner, basketball games, hamster balls, and other activities. Hosted after sundown, it will be a night of popular music, carnival games, tumbles and screams in the hamster ball, and a lot of pictures at the photo booth. Don’t get the wrong idea though; the fun obviously isn’t limited to the carnival. Be ready to meet individuals with the same international perspective as you, and to share your unique experience with those in your committee. Enhance your interpersonal skills as you take stance for what your country believes in, and find common ground with students from all over the country.
