The Great Wildebeest Migration is astonishing. Each year, more than 1.5 million wildebeest trek from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara and back again in search of fresh grazing. Their crossing of the Mara River is the climax of this odyssey, a spectacle filled with drama, death, and endeavor and one of Serengeti’s best safari experiences.
This is a luxurious package special for people with less time to spend in the wild; the safari features the famous Serengeti National park in the northern part of the Mara River Serengeti (Kogatende). With the fly-in-fly-out safari travel in custom designed 4x4 safari vehicles with open roofs for game viewing.
Day 1: Arusha airport– Kogatende airstrip Serengeti National Park.
Fly straight to the Northern Serengeti arriving in time for an afternoon game drive. Catching the great migration in the Serengeti is a spectacular sight, and if you time your safari right, you might witness millions of wildebeest hustling together as the intensity of the migration grows. You will enjoy staying at the Serengeti for three days on a full-board basis with shared games.
Dinner and overnight:
Day 2: Game View in Serengeti (Mara River, Kogatende Region).
After early breakfast, depart for a morning game drive along the Mara river. You will be waiting for crossing along the river, but you will also do a game drive, the Mara River is the last major obstacle standing between the Wildebeest Migration and the relative safety of the Masai Mara. If you’re patient and a little lucky, you may even get to witness the death-defying crossing itself where wildebeest and zebras brave the river’s currents and crocodiles in an attempt to reach safety on the opposite bank. Day 3: Serengeti Arusha airport.
After breakfast, you will have an en-route game drive to Kogatende airstrip for the scheduled flight to Arusha airport. You will then be transferred to Kilimanjaro international airport for your flight back home.

This Safari is ideal for those with only a few days to spare. It conveniently departs by air daily from Arusha to Serengeti National Park.
Serengeti is perhaps most well-known for its annual migration across the great Savannah plains. This is a phenomenal sight: thousands upon thousands of animals, particularly wildebeests, as far as the eye can see. During the rainy season (from November to May), the wildebeests, whose population has been estimated at around 1’500’000, are found in the eastern section of the Serengeti and also the Masai Mara in Kenya to the north. When the dry season begins at the end of June, the annual migration commences as the animals move in search of food pasture. The Serengeti is also famous for cheetahs, leopards, and lions, some of which migrate with the wildebeests while others remain in the central plain.
