As much as you like we speak fluent Kiswahili too if they wish to learn, also speak some German being of mixed race German/Tanzanian. Very easy to mix with the locals. Magomeni Mikumi is Friendly, Safe and Secure. Locals play bao and cards on the road sides drinking coffee. Mishkaki (meat skewers) and Nyama Choma (BBQ) and fried bananas in the streets, goes down well in the local bars and even pork joints are available in this mixed multicultural cosmopolitan local part of Dar es Salaam. Famous Taarab venues are numerous in this Swahili neighborhood. The famous Magomeni Market selling everything is just down the road and it still offers reasonable prices compared to other markets in Dar es Salaam. Lots of public transport apart from daladalas the local buses, you have tuctucs called bajaj, taxis and motorbike taxis all around, actually you could walk into town or even hire a bicycle if you want to go very local. Internet is best connected too using a USB Modem, these cost under 20$ a piece would recommend VodaCom, but you also have other providers such as Tigo, Zantel and AirTel.
