The Great Migration in August, September and October! 👌
By August, the herds have faced the challenge of crossing the Mara River and are spread throughout the Masai Mara's northern region, with many remaining in the northern Serengeti.
By September to October, the main chaos has ended and the migrating columns have gradually moved eastward. However, they wildebeest will face the heavy waters of the Mara River once more as they prepare to cross once again for their return journey southward.

Did you know? The Great wildebeest Migration isn’t a singular event—it’s a yearlong cycle, a voyage driven mainly by food and water availability. In November-December herds arrive on the plains of the Serengeti, where they’ll remain through March, feeding on fresh vegetation. Slowly the masses being moving west across the grasslands and begin their migration North around April. May through August the herds continue traveling northward, occasionally being stalled at certain crossings. Around mid-August- September the wildebeest face their greatest obstacle: The Mara River Crossing, a truly fascinating spectacle. By October, they are reversing their journey, following the rains Southward, with more grace to reach the Southern Serengeti once again.
