“Roshen” is a true paradise and the first place to go for your sweet-tooth. You will be surprised by the large selection of sweets they have to offer: candies, chocolate, cakes, biscuits, waffles, marshmallows and more! In recent years, the factory challenges stereotypes that high-quality sweets are produced only abroad. In the “Roshen” shop you can buy one of Kyiv symbols – Kyiv cake. It consists of two egg-white churned cream, layered cakes, stuffed with nuts. The surface of the cake is decorated with various creams and the top is sprinkled with walnut crumbs. Yum!

Lviv is very exclusive

In 2007 a group of three enthusiasts founded the biggest in 2015 network of creative places in Lviv. These are theme restaurants with unusual atmosphere, design and product. Very well-known example is “Kryivka”, where at the entrance you are met with a gunmen from the times of World War Second, who asks a patriotic call sign and gives a shot of Gorilka (Ukrainian alcohol beverage) in case you are right. After that you are let into the bar that is decorated as a traditional place of hiding for local resistance forces in Galicia during WWII (which was dig in the ground and supported by wooden beams). There are tens of such places, including the Coffee Mine (a shaft where coffee is believed to be produced), there one can submerge into a darkness equipped with a helmet and torch and wander in labyrinth stuffed with small tables and bar counters. I should also mention an eccentric restaurant Mazoh decorated with s*x toys, waiters of which can punish you with a lash (only if you are up for it).

Traditionally, the Christmas Eve dinner in Ukraine was made up of twelve dishes, to symbolize the number of the Apostles. All the dishes had to be of the Lenten kind — no meat, but fish was allowed. Though there were some local differences in various parts of Ukraine, the Christmas Eve dinner was basically universal for all of Ukraine as far as the main dishes were concerned.
The central dish was kutya.
Mostly, it was made from wheat, but in some parts of Eastern and Central Ukraine, rice or buckwheat were used. In Prykarpattya, Western Ukraine, where wheat is not practically grown, a handful of wheat was always kept for the festive occasions.

By the legend Andreevskiy spusk took its name after St. Andrew Pervozvanniy. This remarkable building decorated with the fabulous figures of animals and chimeras like as they were took from peaked roofs of Notre Dame de Paris can be easily called the most unusual Kiev building. On the roof of the building are sitting good-natured toads with nereids, heads of rhinos and antelope are built into walls, drain pipes look like snakes and elephant trunks. Constructed on a steep slope house astonishes by one more details — from the front side it has only 3 floors and from back side whole 6!
