📆Ukraine celebrates the Day of Bank Employees on May 20
On the eve of the Banker’s Day, the Banking University hosted a round table discussion "Formation of competencies of modern professionals in the context of digitalization of finance and open banking."💚💛
Almost 100 people took part in the meeting: students, university graduates, scientists, bankers and professors from Kyiv, Lviv and Germany. The dialogue turned out to be extremely constructive and useful for all participants.
It has historically been the case that from the very beginning of its founding in 1940, Banking University💚💛 and specialists in the field of finance and credit - as one friendly family. BU constantly monitors the need for staff to keep abreast of today's challenges and train professionals and our partners help our students to enrich their knowledge by inviting them on the internship programs and practical courses. Bankers, in turn, are looking for active and purposeful students in the BU💚💛 to invite and offer them a job.
"And it was from this friendship that the wonderful idea of introducing the Bank employee's Day into the calendar of significant dates and professional holiday was born".
Research and teaching staff of UBS together with specialists of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Association of Banks of Lviv region researched the historical aspects of savings in Galicia and proved the need to introduce a professional holiday for all involved in the financial and credit sphere. And since 2004, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Bank Employees on May 20.
During the discussion we talked about :
✔trends of the banking market,
✔robotic bankers,
✔ requirements of employers and expectations from employees,
✔ monitored the level of salaries
✔discussed new aspects of cooperation
Master's students dwelled on their pains, when trying to implement creative and creative ideas, they prefer small companies over large financial institutions, where it is much more difficult to implement the ideas through bureaucracy. They talked about the prospects of human competencies, that routine is the main enemy of the enthusiasm of university graduates who are beginning to build a career in banking institutions. The graduates of the university Vitaliy Romanchukevych - First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Industrialbank, and Yaroslav Omelchuk - Head of the Compliance Service, SSO JSC "TASKOMBANK" (TAS Group), thanked the University for giving good knowledge, opening the world for professional opportunities, teaching to think extraordinaly and giving competencies that do not lose the value nowadays. We discussed about the skills that are extremely necessary to instill and develop in students and the ability to solve complex problems is one of the most important. After all, a modern bank is already a dynamic market place with enormous opportunities, which competes in the market not only with its peers, but also with IT companies. The company's success in the market depends on a strong team, and on a strong team with a common vision of goals and the same values. We agreed that every employee of the company should be focused on making this world a better place.
What motivates students and how they imagine a company where they want to work? Many students seek to immerse themselves in the operational life of the bank during the internship and gain some motivation by practicing. This openness of dialogue on equal terms is an extraordinary asset and what makes higher education modern.
