RUGA was formed in November 2021 after AWF supported 10 youths from Rurambira Conservancy near Lake

The Association members after receiving training in Tour guiding and Interpretation with support from African Wildlife Foundation took it upon themselves to promote conservation within Rurambira Conservancy while offering quality guiding and Interpretation services about wildlife and the rich Ankole culture to the visiting tourists

Special thanks to RTI International, African Wildlife Foundation and Rurambira Conservancy Management for organizing and facilitating a one week training in interpretive guiding for 10 youth from Rurambira Conservancy near Lake Mburo National Park. After the training, the youths decided to make an Association through which they will acquire more knowlegde and skills to conserve the environment while offering quality guiding and Interpretation in their area
