Papyrus Gonolek.
( Laniarius mufumbiri).

This species belongs to family Malaconotidae and thrives in the destinations of Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya where it is explored while on an African birding excursion.

This bird is one of the most sought after birds of Uganda. It is a papyrus dweller. It is an East African Endemic.

Standing as a medium sized bush shrike, the Papyrus gonolek stretches to 18cm marked with a dull yellow crown, black head, tail, wings and upper parts except the white bar on their wings.

The papyrus gonolek has a whitish lower belly while the upper belly feature an orange crimson.
Usually, it is more heard than seen.

This species are mostly seen in pair or can keep single in the papyrus swamps hanging within the vegetation also identified by their calls marked with grating and whistling.

This bird species is limited to papyrus swamps in terms of habitat distribution which increases its vulnerability since such habitats are threatened by pollution and encroachment.
It is listed on the red list of (IUCN) as the Near Threatened species.

THE WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL WATERFALL.
Murchison Falls, also known as Kabalega Falls, is a waterfall at the apex of Lake Albert on the Victoria Nile in Uganda. At the top of Murchison Falls, the Nile forces its way through a gap in the rocks, only 7 m (23 ft) wide, and tumbles 43 m (141 ft), before flowing westward into Lake Albert.

The Ultimate Gorilla Trekking In Uganda.

Most trekking experiences in Uganda takes place in Bwindi, where there are multiple starting points and several gorilla families to track. Visits are led by park rangers and groups of eight are allowed to observe the gorillas for one hour, in silence and at a safe distance.

UGANDA IS THE AFRICA’S BIRDING CAPITAL
Uganda has conducive conditions and habitats that harbor over 1,078 bird species.
These birds occupy all habitats around the continent with some members being extremely restricted to particular micro-habitats.
The black and yellow species, tend to prefer moist habitats.
Fox’s Weaver (scientifically known as Ploceus Spekeoides) is one of those that prefer moist habitats and is the only true endemic to Uganda (Only in Eastern Uganda) meaning that this particular bird is only found in Uganda.
Uganda is the best birding destination in Africa with a number of endemic and endangered bird species.

A Cattle egret is a small diverse species of the heron family Ardeidae, order-Ciconiiformes, class of Aves and genus is bubulcus.
This stocky heron has a weight between 270-512g, length is about 18-22cm and its wingspan has between 35-38cm.
It is found in the tropics, sub tropics and warm temperature zones, usually found with grazing mammals. In Uganda can be found mostly in Lake Mburo and Murchison Falls National Park.
