We condemn the heinous acts of terror on our land.

May the souls of the departed tourists and their guide rest in eternal peace.

The Coffee Barista Class is amazing. If you need a Barista, book one with us, if you have staff who just make coffee but have never gone through the professional training...just send them over to the Tourism Institute of East Africa and you won't regret. You will be sure to get your Return On Investment or your money back.

As the world discovers the value of coffee, cafes are mushrooming all over the place and the need to have Professional Baristas is increasing.

The coffee beverage is a uniting factor of Non-alcohol drinkers and Alcohol drinkers.

Spent the afternoon at Chakig Eco-Tourism Center. Fed Ostriches in the Zoo. Mr. Paul Koorinako and the team have done a great job putting up a community conservation center. People of Mukono and the surrounding communities will be enjoying wildlife at their doorsteps while learning how to conserve and preserve what we have. Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife & Antiquities, and UWEC are some of the great partners.
Soon, more animals like zebras, Uganda kobs, etc will be brought to the zoo. Thank you, Paul and Enock for taking me around the facility. Looking forward to a partnership next year.
For retreats and recreation call: 0392960217.
Enjoy the pictures.

Great moment to witness the Graduation of some of TIEA students who have completed their internship with one of our great partners-the Sheraton-Marriot Kampala Hotel.

All the interns were given employment opportunities!! Yes, it is humbling and that has become "normal"- our students are trained, interned and then employed.

Proud of Mbale City. Lot of road works taking place-good thing. Bumped into a group 70 Domestic Tourists in 35 Subarus. They were returning from Sipi Falls where they spent their weekend. I was impressed by the Ugandan flag on the Lead Car. Corporates are proud of their country. They visit different places, Enjoy the sceneries which Uganda offers. Meet new friends. And boost the economy. Isaac is the founder of Subaru Legacy 256 and he has consistently organized trips for Subaru Owners. In June the group was in the West.
Like I have shared with many people, Tourism is the best sector where people can be patriotic. Last weekend several million were spent between Kampala-Sipi Falls and the Tourism value chain benefited a lot of people ranging from peasant farmers who supply restaurants with foodstuff to Gas/Fuel stations! Isaac and Team, keep up the Flag and the spirit of Loving your county.

About Tourism Institute of East Africa

Tourism Institute of East Africa is an institution of higher learning aimed at meeting the dynamic needs of the Tourism Industry which is the fastest growing industry in the world. We train students who have not been to the field of Tourism and we have comprehensive programs for those who are already in the field. We equip learners with practical, relevant and professional skills that are applicable in the industry. The training targets: Entry Level Staff, Middle-Management Personnel, Top Management, Entrepreneurs, researchers among others. We carry out research to identify gaps in the industry and come up with recommendations and solutions. Our Professional team of lecturers are both academicians and practitioners in the industry. The goodwill and partnership the institute has with other institutions opens doors of employment opportunities for graduates from the institute. The family atmosphere created at the institute and conducive learning environment enables students to desire to learn and participate in the development of good practice in the tourism & hospitality industry. Our training model is NOT theoretical and memorization rather, we train our students to understand concepts and new ideas through critical thinking.

We offer Diploma, Certificate programs and Short Courses. The Diploma programs take two (2) Academic Years. Each Academic Year has two (2) Semesters. Each Semester lasts for 13 weeks with 4 weeks of holiday. Certificate Programs go for two (2) semesters ( one Academic Year). After the total four (4) semesters for Diploma programs or 2 Semesters for Certificate programs, students do internship of a minimum of 3 months. Students are given an opportunity to get their internship place but once they fail, then TIEA connects them to any of the partners that range from 5 star Hotels in the region, Tour Companies, Travel Agencies, Tourism Establishments, Airlines, Airport among others.

Students pursuing a Diploma in Cabin Crew Services & Hospitality Management fly to South Africa where they do their practicals for 2 months and sit for their final exams for the International Flight Attendants' Licence. The practicals and exams are conducted at South African Airways facilities.
