Tarangire National Park in the Manyara region is Tanzania's sixth-largest national park, named after the Tarangire River, which runs through the park and is a permanent river that provides water to both people and animals even during the dry season.

Today's Park of the day is Tarangire National Park
During the yearly wet season, the Tarangire Ecosystem's wild animals rely on the Tarangire River for their freshwater needs. Long-distance wildlife migrations of zebra and wildebeest define the Tarangire Ecosystem.

From the surrounding dispersed and calving regions during the rainy season, hundreds of animals converge on Tarangire National Park during the dry season.

The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has announced a significant decrease in the price of gorilla trekking permits in an effort to increase tourism in Rwanda. For international residents, the gorilla trekking permit cost has been decreased from $1500 to $500.

Gorilla permits will now cost $500 for Africans living outside of the East African community and $200 for East Africans per person. This is anticipated to increase Rwanda's tourism industry and open up gorilla trekking to a larger variety of travellers.
