Tourist arrivals are expected to exceed 3.6m in 2017, setting a new record, the Cyprus tourism organisation (Cto) said on Tuesday in a statement marking world tourism day.

βBased on the indications to date, the overall annual arrivals in 2017, which are expected to exceed 3.6m, will also be a historical record,β the Cto said.
In 2016, Uganda generated UGX2,592.9bn in visitor exports. In 2017, this is expected to grow by 23.0%, and the country is expected to attract 1,459,000 international tourist arrivals. By 2027, international tourist arrivals are forecast to total 2,486,000, generating expenditure of UGX6,535.2bn, an increase of 7.4% pa.
