If you are a student or young person looking for travel or for volunteering opportunities in Uganda then we are the only organisation offering completely authentic tours with incredible value for money. Set up through friends I made on a recent trip to Uganda, you deal directly with Ugandan students at the University of Makerere and every cent you spend will be accounted for and spent in Uganda. Y
ou just say what you want to do and for how long and they will use their local knowledge to organise your perfect trip. They will also act as your personal tour guide whilst in Uganda. For this they will charge a very small weekly fee which pays for their food and travel whilst with you, and helps towards paying their University fees. Costs for everything else are estimated and a budget are agreed on before you leave. A deposit is usually required for those things which must be booked in advance but receipts will be provided on arrival. The tours and volunteering opportunities they organise usually range from 1-4 weeks and often involve a mixture of both volunteering and tourist attractions. Uganda is home to half the world's population of mountain gorillas, the source of the Nile and the world's only tree-climbing lions. There's trekking, white water rafting, big game drives or you can just focus on volunteering. The schools they work with seldom see help from larger organisations, making the work even more rewarding. Please note that the tours require flexibility and a sense of adventure. Uganda, whilst a friendly country, is one of the poorest in the world and travel is often on the local buses. Please direct any questions or queries about a potential trip to the Facebook group and I will try to answer them (having recently done a trip my myself).
