We had an incredible experience earlier today watching a shoebill stork at Mabamba wetland Sanctuary. Looked like this one was contemplating its hunting intentions as it reminded motionless for at least 40 minutes.

Shoebills rely entirely on their vision while hunting. They prefer fishing in shallow water or deep water with floating vegetation, in low-oxygen swamps that are teeming with fish. Lung fish and cat fish are among their preferred prey.
