The Biharwe Eclipse Monument in Mbarara was erected on Biharwe Hill in commemoration of the “Biharwe Eclipse” which was dated by astronomers and historians to have taken place in the year 1520 AD.

Legend has it that the eclipse was acknowledged in the kingdoms of Bunyoro, Buganda, and Nkole, and played a crucial role in determining the royal genealogies of those kingdoms.

It has been a great evening from our photogenic "Crested Crane". Uganda's most famous bird.

Did you know that these birds have a life span of up to 22 years in the wild whereas most song birds in the wild only live for an average of two years. This is very Amazing right 😉
