🏞 The region's largest and oldest monastery is the Great Meteoron. Meteora means "suspended in the air" and this place of worship gave its name to the entire region.

Our Final Easter Idea - SAROVA SALT LICK GAME LODGE

🛫🏖 As you arrive at the Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge, you will be captivated by their collection of unusual structures that seem to be a part of a distinct architecture that is the passage way of roaming elephants.
🏕The entire lodge is housed in individual round buildings with conical roofs with each building raised on multiple sturdy pillars.
🦓These structures are arranged around a series of watering holes where animals come to drink at all times, in the day and night.
🍽The lounge and bar have balconies, decks and wide windows all around for unobstructed animal viewing on your East African safari trip along with stairways, bridges and underground hide tunnel. Sarova Salt Lick Lodge is an economical accommodation located in Taita Hills adjacent to Tsavo West National Park

🛋 They offer budget guests traveling in Kenya 96 rooms in all, housed two apiece, over two floors in circular structures linked with walkways with thin bamboo railings. 🛋The rooms are modestly designed, and you can choose from double beds, three beds or twin beds with hung or railed mosquito netting and a ceiling fan.
☕Tea and coffee making supplies are also placed in your room. The attached bathrooms come with a shower stall, toiletries and outlet for plugging in your shaver. The lodge has one restaurant and a bar where meals and drinks are served to guests.
🍽The Bura Restaurant is the main diner and can seat 150 guests at a time. Elevated like the other buildings in the lodge, it offers you interactive views of the watering hole and a range of wholesome dishes cooked with some ingredients from their own vegetable patch.
🍽Your meals are served buffet style, and on some occasions, they will utilize an additional counter where special dishes are cooked on site as per your taste.

🛑TIPS to SAVE for your DREAM HOLIDAY

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦Majority of us put off holiday travel due to the cost.

So, feeling the struggle ourselves, we’ve racked our brains for things to do (or not to do) to save the cash for your next holiday.
So here are our tips to help you go on holiday in 12 months.
1) Boil your drinking water at home and take it with you instead of buying bottled water.

2) Take a packed lunch to work instead of buying snacks and food at the office or going out to restaurants for lunch

3) Enjoy a romantic meal and go for a picnic instead of to a restaurant on date night with the girls/boys or other half

4) Save up the shrapnel – all that loose change at the end of every day, adds up. Keep putting it in a piggy bank.

5) Force yourself to budget. Set up an automatic transfer into a savings account when you get paid so you can’t spend the money. Just 50k – 100k a month racks up fast, and you’ll save a lot over the year – Ugx 50,000 x 12 = save 600k or 1.2m.

6) If you live close to work or can skip out one of the stops on your way home, why not walk instead of getting on a taxi to work and exercise while at it?

7) Take advantage of loyalty cards from some supermarkets like Capital Shoppers. If you do your shopping there every week and are accumulating credit point, every once a month, use your credit points and put the shopping budget onto your holiday savings

8) OK, so it’s not really saving but why not dig into your store or garage and sell off your old mobile phones, CDs, DVDs, clothes, shoes and all house items you haven’t used in the past 6 months – these days you can sell anything on Facebook groups – choose the ones that you’re already spending hours on with large numbers – add the sales cash to your holiday stash.

9) Bulk buy food. Lots of shops offer great deals on multi purchases

10) Kill two birds with one stone. Give your liver a rest and save on a night out every other weekend –how much do you spend on a Friday night out or Saturday outing? How much could you save if you cut that to once a month?

11) Make the most of the deals and get half price cinema tickets on Mondays instead of going at the weekend

12) Check those bills. Watch your water usage – when brushing turn off the water, get a bowl in the sink when washing dishes, collect bath water for flushing the toilet… Watch your electricity usage, turn off lights in empty rooms, kitchen and outside, switch off sockets when going to bed…

13) Instead of buying brand new items, look out for sales – there’s some good steals at Flea markets and those are mushrooming up everywhere in Kampala.

With this list of 13 tips and tricks for saving for a holiday, you could save over Ugx 5 million in just one year!
