Giraffe Population is growing in Pian Upe National Park.
2019 & 2020 by a collaborative effort UWA reintroduced giraffes back to Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve’s vast wilderness; over 25 years after they’d gone extinct. The wattled lapwing (Vanellus senegallus), also known as the Senegal wattled plover or simply wattled lapwing, is a large lapwing, a group of largish waders in the family Charadriidae. Jackson's is an African specie of Antelope. Good Sprinter, a herbivorous that feeds most on grass in early morning and afternoon. Both Male and females have Horns upto 40-70 cm. A well grown can weigh between 125kg to 205Kg, enough meat for 2 to 3 . You can see these nice looking Antelopes in Falls National Park..

giving birth🦒. What an amazing and rare moment... The mother took 30 mins to give birth and the baby took approx 30 mins to stand up.
The other giraffe family (Tower) members welcomes the baby, such an amazing moment to watch in the wild? Nature is truly wonderful.
What's more interesting? Giraffes give birth standing up and a calf starts off his life with a drop of up to two metres to the ground. This fall breaks the umbilical cord & helps to Jumpstart his first breath.

A matriach has rested .
Saddened by the death of Dida who was possibly Africa’s largest female Tusker and a Matriarch residing in KWS Tsavo East National Park . She died from natural causes due to old age having lived a full life to about 60-65 years old.
Dida was a truly an iconic matriarch of Tsavo and a great repository of many decades worth of knowledge. She shepherd her herd through many seasons and challenging times. She served as both the subject to various documentaries and an iconic tourist attraction. Those who got to know her through pictures and videos as well as those who had the exquisite pleasure of meeting her in person will remember her.

Jackson’s Pool stands at 4,050m above sea level on Mt. Elgon. It is a natural pool with shallow waters- Very cold that you wouldn't Swim in.. This pool lies in the shadow of the 4,165m high Jackson’s Peak, a free-standing volcanic plug rising from the western flank of the mountain.
These features were named after Frederick Jackson, the first European explorer who Climbed Mount Elgon in 1889.
