We fish three ports, providing you with the best fishing experience Lake Michigan has to offer. Whether it’s fishing Coho salmon in the spring from Winthrop Harbor, Door County walleyes from Little Sturgeon Bay, or fishing king salmon/rainbow trout from our home port Algoma, we find optimal locations throughout the calendar year. Our network of full-time boats work together and can cover more water than the part-time operators, giving you a higher chance at a successful Lake Michigan fishing experience. We own and operate 12 beautiful condos at our Algoma location. These luxurious units are available to our clients exclusively, for an upgrade during our spring walleye or summer/fall salmon fishing season. They’re true 2-3 large bedroom condominiums, not glorified apartments or small outdated homes disguised as “condo”. We built 2 new units in 2020 at Harbor View, and our Harbor Walk condos are currently undergoing renovations that will be completed spring of 2022. All units are fully furnished and are professionally cleaned and sanitized after every stay. When staying in Kewaunee or Door County, look no further than Harbor Walk/Harbor View condominiums. In these times of uncertainty, we offer a safe, secure getaway. Being a short drive from anywhere in the Midwest you can leave the chaos, mandates, airport delays, closed borders etc., and come enjoy our small community to its fullest. Wineries, quaint shopping, fantastic restaurants/bars, scenic shorelines, beaches, live music, festivals, and friendly hospitality are just a few of the things that Kewaunee and Door County have to offer. The last couple days have been a struggle with the weather, yesterday having all the boats parked on the bench. The crew from the Ultimate Outdoor Adventure’s were welcomed this am to the “30lb Club”. Congratulations on an awesome fish!

Great way to kick start the month of May!

Winds were stiff this weekend but those that made it out were welcomed to some fine catches of cohos to start off our spring season!

Our Story

Kinn’s Sport Fishing is a full-time charter fishing service, operating eleven large tournament-rigged boats seven days a week. We pride ourselves in providing the best salmon fishing experience at the most reasonable rates, and carefully survey all of Lake Michigan’s 22,000+ square miles to pinpoint the most productive fishing grounds. In addition, we own and operate ten fully-furnished luxury lakefront condominiums. These condos include amenities such as fully furnished kitchens, barbecue grills, flat screen tv’s, free wifi and are conveniently located right on Lake Michigan’s western shore. Our entire staff is fully trained, licensed, and insured, and they are all eager to ensure you have the most successful trip possible!

Winthrop Harbor, IL – The Finest in Spring Salmon & Trout Fishing!

April 15 – June 1

Starting in April as warming temperatures begin on Lake Michigan’s western shores. Large numbers of Cohos and Steelhead begin on the hunt for huge schools alewives. This is clearly the best time of year, if catching lots of salmon is up your alley! We offer “Guaranteed Limit” packages available through May. You will have to book early if “Catching Limits” of Coho and Steelhead are what you want. In addition to fun, these are the best eating fish of the season!

Chinook Salmon, Steelhead, Brown Trout, Coho Salmon, Lake Trout

May 20th – July 15 This is one of our most consistent fishing periods of the season. This is an excellent time for all types and sizes of Salmon and Trout. We see large King Salmon in addition to excellent mixed bag catches!

July 16th – August 31 Some of the “Best” in Hardcore Line Screaming King Salmon Action! The Chinook Salmon have grown a little larger and by the end of August are getting ready to enter the streams to spawn. We continue to experience excellent catches of Chinook Salmon and Brown Trout in addition to the ever popular Steelhead fishing.

September 1 – October 15 Fall fishing offers anglers with some of the best of both worlds! You can experience some great near shore fishing with some of our Largest Chinooks and Brown Trout of the season being available right outside our harbors lighthouse! We also take some incredible catches of Kings and Steelhead offshore, as they put on the feedbag before our winter season! Come visit Algoma for a great fall vacation!
