Full House at the Bird Key Yacht Club last night. Pasta preparation Demonstration and Tales of Italy from my book “ Freedom to Wander”.
Following the demonstration, members enjoyed a fabulous Italian themed meal prepared by Executive Chef Richard Mendoza and his team. The culmination was a special tribute dessert of Tiramisu inspired and created by Robert’s cousin who had helped reveal the joys of Italy to him a number of years ago and is featured in his book.
The official launch of the book will be on Monday, January 29th at 6pm at the Westcoast Black Theater.

UNESCO Villa Romana del Casale Incredible Mosaics. After a great lunch in Piazza Armerina special place, we visited The Villa Romana del Casale. One of the finest examples of ancient Roman villas, so well preserved that it still manages to show us the life of the predominant social and economic class in the Roman age.
In 1997 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List for its splendid mosaics, still in perfect condition, covering some 3,500 square metres, with depictions of heroes and gods, scenes of hunting, games and everyday life. Ending the day relaxing in our private Villa and Live Music and welcome dinner.

Our Sicilian Tours starts in charming Taormina.
Taormina is a hilltop town on the east coast of Sicily. It sits near Mount Etna, an active volcano with trails leading to the summit. The town is known for the Teatro Antico di Taormina, an ancient Greco-Roman theater still used today. Near the theater, cliffs drop to the sea forming coves with sandy beaches.
We tour the city and the next day we go to Mount Etna. On the descent we visit Murgo Winery for a tasting of the special wines from the mountain along with a home Sicilian prepared lunch.
