Opened in 1963, the nine-hole, par 36 layout plays to 2718 yards from the forward tees to as long as 3131 yards from the back. Players of all ability levels will be treated to a fair and challenging experience. They will enjoy a scenic journey around the variety of holes, typical of Northern Wisconsin. Tee-shots will be driven into fairways of varied widths, while approach shots will be targeted t
o some greens that are quite flat and other with appreciable slope. There are only a few bunkers, but water hazards are plentiful. Elevation changes are almost non-existent, resulting in the course being easy to walk. The Kretz family, owners of the Riverview Golf Course, takes pride in establishing a family-oriented atmosphere. Both the daily and seasonable fees are very affordable and discounts are offered during the less-active times of each day. Discounts are for juniors , seniors, couples and especially families, when juniors up to 14 years old and accompanied by an adult, can play free on Sunday afternoons. There is also a summer-long junior program, with kids from age five through high school participating
Other amenities available include a well-stocked golf shop and snack-bar that offers sandwiches and beverages to golfers of all ages. Practice facilities include a putting green, chipping green with a bunker, and an expansive targeted range where even the longest hitters can use their entire bag of clubs. Lessons are also available by reservation.
2008 brought the establishment of The Enclave at River Oaks, a 16 site home development around and within the Riverview property. This resulted in the beginning of an on-going remodeling project on the course. New tees have been constructed for some holes, adding more length and challenge for the lower handicap golfers.
