Since returning from our most recent trip to Disney World, I wanted to share some of my thoughts/reflections!

Coming from Appleton, I only want to do the direct Allegiant flight to Sanford!! This was so easy, the airport was great and it felt like the travel day was so short!!!!

Staying off site was just fine and a great way to save money. For us, it was extremely easy because there were only 3 of us and the boys are older. We paid for a Lyft every day to the parks and every day home from the parks. It was very easy and not very pricey but for a family greater than 4 or one that needs car seats, it would be a little trickier. We really enjoyed the hotel, especially the view and location. It was such an easy walk to explore Disney Springs!

We did purchase the multi-pass lightning lane 2 of the 3 days. This allows us to chose 3 rides ahead of time with return times that we can skip the line. Because we weren’t staying on site we could only do this 3 days ahead of our trip (staying onsite you can do it a week ahead). Some of the popular rides (I.e. Slinky Dog Dash) we were unable to get as they were full. I do think purchasing this is totally worth it to avoid some time in lines! I feel like staying on site gives you a bit more advantages to maximize this.

We ended up doing 4 sit down (reservation needed) popular restaurants: Space 220, Be Our Guest, Chef Mickey’s and Topolinos Terrace! My boys are really into the food now (which is fun yet expensive!). We didn’t have any of these reservations when we left….every single one was a last minute reservation that I found. Because you can cancel up until 2 hours before, a lot of availability opens up. Granted, we only had 3 people so I do not believe it would be that easy with 5 or more.

We did A LOT while we were there. But full disclosure, we were able to do a lot because of the age of the boys AND the fact that we know Disney World so well. We know the ins and outs, the layout, locations, etc. Packing everything in like we did would be very hard for young kids and/or first time Disney World visitors!

Overall, it was such a fun and different Disney trip than I had experienced before….I’ve been with adults only, young kids, older kids, big groups, just my family, and there is something different yet magical about each trip! There are things to appreciate and enjoy at every age and that’s why I love Disney World so much!!

Day 3 Recap (not as crazy as yesterday). We slept in a bit because we were pretty tired. We tried to get in the things we really wanted to do that we hadn’t done yet.

Took a Lyft for Disney’s Contemporary Resort for a late Breakfast at Chef Mickeys! This has been a family favorite for years….my boys love the Mickey waffles. The character interaction here is awesome (my boys are kind of over that part…but the characters wouldn’t leave them alone 😂)

Took the monorail to Magic Kingdom:

Standby line (15 minutes) Jungle Cruise
Saw a little bit of the first Christmas Parade of the Season! (The parade was at 2:00 and tons of people were waiting to watch this parade so lines were short at rides around this time!)

Single Lightning Lane Tron (again)!
We did get a virtual queue boarding group at 1:00 for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (new Splash Mountain) but we hadn’t been called yet when we left at 4:30 and wanted to go to our dinner!)

Took the bus to Riviera Resort for an AMAZING dinner at Topolinos Terrace! I had never been here and the food and atmosphere was amazing!

Took the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios:
Standby line (80 minutes-we really wanted to do this) Slinky Dog Dash
9:30 show for Fantasmic (which might be my favorite Disney Nightime show)!

Because we didn’t purchase the Lightning Lane multi pass, we didn’t get our ride photos included so you can see them with the water mark!

We took a Lyft back to our hotel and we’re back around 10:30!

We had so much fun on our jam-packed day 1. Here is a recap:
We landed at Sanford airport at 10:15 where Lev from Orlando Magical Rides was waiting for us at baggage claim. The airport was so small and easy…we LOVED that! The drive from their airport to Hilton Buena Vista Palace was around 45-50 minutes. We checked in but our room wasn’t ready…no biggie! We left all of our luggage with bell services and headed out!

We weren’t in a hurry so we walked (5 minutes) to Disney Springs and then to their bus station. We thought there would be buses to take us to the parks but they only went to the resorts. We decided to take the bus to the Riviera Resort since we had never been there and then take the skyliner to Hollywood Studios! It was a great way to see a lot of Disney World even before setting foot in a park!

Once we got to Hollywood Studios we ate a quick lunch at Backlot Express and then started the rides. We did purchase the lighting lane multi pass and single pass for our day. Here is what we accomplished:
Lightning Lane Rockin Roller Coaster
Standby line (20 minutes) for Tower of Terror
Standby line (25 minutes) for Toy Story Mania
Lightning Lane Star Tours
Then we took the Skyliner to EPCOT!
Boys got their favorite Disney snacks!

Single Pass Lightning Lane for Guardians of the Galaxy

Standby line (walk on) Figment
Dinner at Space 220! This was our highlight!
After dinner, EPCOT was closing so we walked out the back exit of to the Beach Club Resort and got a Lyft from that lobby to bring us to our hotel (much less busy to do this)!
We got to our room with an amazing view of Disney Springs and we were DONE!
Ready for our adventures today!
