5 years ago today, we welcomed our first "real" Airbnb guests to Graystone Castle🏰 Over 500 sets of guests later, we continue to maintain nothing but 5 star experiences and reviews as we strive to deliver unprecedented levels of hospitality! We are beyond thankful for all the amazing staff we've gained over the years, and for all our lovely guests who have shared their stories and memories made in our amazingly unique Castle in lil ol' Arlington. Cheers to the years ahead being just as great as the past 5 years🫶

A little *Wednesday Wisdom* post that is sure to generate a few giggles🏰

Well, there is always going to be ‘a first time’ for everyone and everything. And recently, we had one that sure caused a great laugh! A castle guest texted me at 11:10pm to ask me how to properly use the bidet🚽. Ugh, I don’t know? But obviously that is not an acceptable answer…so I of course googled it. WOW, what a whirlwind of knowledge that I can't believe I went the past 30+ years without! I sent the guest a few notes and links which turned into a 45 minute conversation going over the process from start to finish. When I woke up the next morning, I had a follow-up text from the guest at 1:45am thanking me for all my help and that they were successfully able to use/operate the bidet. She also suggested that I leave similar instructions in the ladies restroom for guests’ future use. Great idea👏

Why do I mention all of this? Well, we thought it would be a great opportunity to enlighten our Castle friends on a few fun facts regarding operating a bidet:
1) It is recommended that you straddle the bidet (this means removing your pants entirely) so you are facing and able to operate the controls (the temperature and stream of water).
2) Most bidets don't have seats, but are still meant to be sat upon; you just sit directly on the rim.
3) Many bidets have a towel on a ring positioned next to the bidet. This is meant for drying the ge****ls or the hands, but sometimes it is used for mopping up any splashes around the rim after rinsing it.
4) Paper should be discarded in the toilet. Bidets are for liquids only.
5) 💩NO POOPING IN THE BIDET!

Well friends, I hope we are all now feeling just a bit more educated today regarding bidets😂. Next time you are at the Castle, check ours out!

Welcome back guests (you have no idea HOW GOOD it feels for us to be able to say this again)🥰
4 months ago, what appeared to be a toilet plumbing leak in the main floor master wing quickly turned into our worst nightmare…the entire basement floor of the castle flooding. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions, work, chaos, heart break, disappointments, big decisions, etc as we’ve navigated this challenge…but as with all things, we kept the end goal in mind and have worked tirelessly to get the damage repaired and the Castle back in order. And today, we are SO PROUD to share that Graystone Castle is finally guest ready again! We actually just jumped right into the ‘Christmas Castle’ décor season, so we are holding off until January to have new photos taken…but stay tuned to see all the fun changes we made during this process🏰
