Built in 2004, Breezeway is a beachfront timber frame home which was the compromise between a husband in the hardwood business and a wife who wanted a light filled retreat. The entire home is built of cypress and oak, but there is no 'brown' in sight, but the hardwood story is all the more compelling because of it. Atlantic Beach, NC is a rare beach town where height restrictions have kept out tall condominiums and the beaches feel private almost every day. Located a the most southern tip of what North Carolinians call the Southern Outer Banks or SOBX, Breezeway has a view of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse on a clear day. A few minutes away are Morehead City and Beaufort where Blackbeard, the pirate, is known to have frequented. Wild horses still inhabit Shackleford Banks from a Spanish shipwreck centuries ago. The area waters are considered the best fishing in North Carolina and Morehead City hosts the Big Rock Blue Marlin tournament annually in June. Note: Breezeway actually has 5 bedrooms in the main house with a bunkroom that sleeps 6 and a playroom with sleeper sofa on the ground floor.
