Hi everybody, some of you may remember a little while back I wrote something up about the difference between my company Mutual Taxi and Limousine Service and Uber.

Well tonight this is a little follow up and for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, feel free to go to our page Mutual Taxi and Limousine Service and check it out. But getting back to what I wanted to tell you. In the video below you have an Uber driver with a passenger who appears to be intoxicated. Now there are several things that go horribly wrong that I wanted to point out to you.

First thing is when you're in the transportation business you know you're going to encounter someone who is drunk and that's mainly why they probably called, is because the person knew that they didn't want to drink and drive so they did the responsible thing and called Uber. So the driver should have exhibited more patience with the passenger.

Secondly the driver did not know where he was going, even after the passenger gave him the location to where he wanted to go. Ok I don't expect drivers to know where everything is, but they should at least be able to use a gps system or other app on their phone to figure out where they need to go. That really shouldn't be up to the passenger to have to know how to get there, that's what they're paying the driver for. That's why at Mutual Taxi and Limousine Service we try to make every effort to hire the most experienced drivers.

Lastly because of the way that Uber's system is set up, there was no way for the customer to immediately resolve the situation with the company. The passenger paid for his service in advance, but was subsequently asked by the Uber driver to get out of the car, even after his fare was already paid for and was not refunded immediately.

UBER...people have been inquiring about this company and here's what we have to say about that:

Well at Mutual Taxi and Limousine we offer the same opportunity to earn money as Uber does and we can have you picked up and on your way to your destination in as little 10 minutes or less in the Atlantic City area, so don't be fooled by Uber. Their drivers work a lot more hours to make the money that they claim they make. That's the part that they're not telling you...besides their service is all done over the Internet there's no one for you to talk to if any issues arise. What we have is a live person on standby for you, that you can speak to 24 hours 7 days a week. Uber is just a glorified cab company with many inexperienced drivers looking to make a fast buck. We also provide training and do complete background checks on our drivers and they receive certification from the NJ Division of Motor Vehicle stating that our drivers are qualified to drive and they are also licensed by the City of Atlantic City, so this is something else they don't do. We are currently in the process of updating our fleet with newer cars to insure a safe and comfortable ride. We handle on average anywhere from 150-300 calls per day and because of our long established track record of 60 years of providing transportation service and our regular clientele our drivers rarely experience issues with our customers.
