Another chilly morning with bright sunshine and small surf. No one fishing yet. Air temp 36 degrees and ocean water temp 47. Winds from the NW at 5 knots. Low tide 11:46 a.m. High tide 5 p.m. Our education team collected this section of shark vertebrae while sweeping the beach for litter last week.

17 years ago, today on November 29, 2006, will forever be known to local residents as "The Chip Wreck"!

While not really a wreck, a container full of snacks landed on a beach in Frisco just south of the old pier near the present-day bathhouse. It was one of four containers that were swept off of the cargo ship Courtney L during a nor'easter.

Beachgoers quickly cleaned up 8,000 bags of Doritos in flavors of Nacho Cheese, Cool Ranch and Spicy Nacho!

What a wonderful fundraiser that the Thompson family and the Koru Krew hosted to raise $10,000 for the Hatteras Island Rescue Squad!
We love dining at Pangea Tavern every time that we are visiting, not only because of the delicious food and drinks, but mainly because of the love and kindness that they give to our beautiful Hatteras Island.

7-9-2023 It was a good day out on the ocean with Als Gal Sportfishing. Heading back in now with a box full of Mahi. Lots of cool pics and videos to come. Thank you for allowing me to tag along today and capture the day. Every trip out helps us learn shooting from boats. If anyone has room in n thier boat, don’t hesitate to shoot us a message.
