Hike interstate state park to see stunning displays of the forest perched on basalt rock formations. 🌲🪨

Enjoy a cozy coffee moment at I love the Nordic latte with cardamom 😋

Cuddle up by the hearthstone wood burning stove and read a book. I look forward to re-reading the Singing Wilderness by Sigurd Olson each season. We have a Tamarack bog nearby that turns its shade of “smoky gold” in late October, and I always enjoy the drive by.

I thought this cute shot taken last week gave summer vibes, but the warm tones at Alkov always give a nod to my favorite season ❤️

Nothing beats morning coffee on a crisp cabin morning

We love espresso, but didn’t want to add a complex machine to our rental, so we got the handy dandy creatista plus, and it works like a dream.

In case espresso isn’t your thing, we also have a french press, coffee grinder, and pourover at the ready ☕️ ❤️

Kayaks are in! Exploring our quiet little lake from these lil boats is the best. Rumor has it that our lake is great for fishing! We’re connected to Toby Creek, which is a Class I trout stream.

The colors and feel of autumn inspired my design for Alkov. Coziness, turning inward, and watching our beloved trees transition yet again is something that brings me immense peace.

I know it’s just barely spring, but I think we’ll book up quite quickly for fall and wanted to let you know our calendar is open for October-December.

Sense the crisp lake air and the way it feels on your face and hands
Be, speak (the trees can sense vibrations in the air)

I learned forest bathing from .cat few years ago and wrote this after my first experience. What a gift.

I fell in love with trees I think. Now, I walk around our oaks, elms, and pines at Alkov, and I notice things I never would have before.

Got some few folks around here and some rad new shots of the place, so thought I’d do a lil’ intro moment.

Alkov Cabin is our dream turned reality. We’re a 1bed 1bath cabin in Balsam Lake, WI perfect for a cozy couple’s getaway. Bring your pups, too! We’re super close to Interstate state park, & minutes from charming downtown Balsam Lake in the St. Croix Valley

We finished this cabin ourselves in 2023 with the help of our amazing fam. Learned lots of trades to materialize our dreams of owning and sharing a rental cabin.

Out favorite things about the cabin are
