The beginner’s mind is a beautiful thing to waste. Becoming an expert tracker might be an honorable and worthwhile goal, but when does it get in the way? In this presentation, we explore the power of getting started and the freedom of not knowing. We discuss apprehension, asking questions, and fear of appearing ignorant. Finally, we explore the wisdom of the beginner’s mind, and how even the seasoned expert can learn with it.

Such a cool surprise! Had the honor of guiding NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and his family through Wabanaki Homelands and Acadia National Park. Hiked around, grabbed a meal, biked the carriage roads, and had some popovers at Jordan Pond House Thank you folks for trusting me with your hard earned time and vacation!
Enjoying the easy weather while it is here! Good times sharing this great place with wonderful people. Sunshine is fading as the earth weebles back on its axis. Here, north of the wall the great ball of fire leans back into the horizon, cresting at its apex lower in the sky with each passing day. We’re accepting the sense that winter is coming. Crisp nights, dew filled mornings, and open parking spaces are all signs of things to come. The ebb of life as we know it. Beauty and wonder is available in the “normal” places. Low angle early rays meander through morning mist. Glistening greenery greets our waking gaze. In space, with time, gratitude, and attention to perspective, we might find grace and grandeur in all things natural.
Under the dome… Don’t let the fog deter you. There is a certain mystery and allure to the Maine coast under these conditions. Don’t believe us? Ask Stephen King.

As the rising sun warms the ocean surface and water v***r rises and condenses, south winds blow blanket fog over and around the mountains into the valley floor. From there it is smooth sailing atop the lightly rippled waters of the glacial moraine lake below…

From high up mountain peaks to oceanside tide pools, macro to micro. There is more to explore than initially meets the eye. From red chiton to rock barnacle, thirties shell limpet to twelve scales worm, keep a close eye and don’t forget to look down!
See all that there…that is Nature’s playground, Wabanaki homeland. If you find yourself in need of adventure…you know where to find me!

“Today, 21st June, it is the summer solstice. The sun is 23.5 degrees north of the Equator - it has reached the Tropic of Cancer. Today the sun rose as far north of East as it ever does from your location (close to NE for most temperate latitudes) and will set as far north of West as it ever does (near NW for most). The long arc from NE at sunrise, through south in the middle of the day to NW at sunset is why the days are longest at this time of year. In six months, at the winter solstice, the arc will be SE via S to SW.
