We had a great day visiting the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas.
This state park is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the traditional culture, crafts, and music located right here in the Ozark Mountain region. Opened in 1973, this landmark offers visitors the chance to experience historical Ozark life through live demonstrations of blacksmithing, pottery-making, and over 18 other pioneer crafts. The park is also home to live folk music performances throughout the day, featuring instruments like fiddles, dulcimers, and banjos.
In addition to crafts and music, the park boasts an impressive Heritage Herb Garden, known for its variety of organic herbs, which visitors can explore through workshops on gardening and herbal remedies. There's also a Craft Village where artisans demonstrate their skills, including copper colorists and broom makers. Visitors can also enjoy a daily magic show.
