It still feels like spring some nights, but the beginning of wild berry season is right around the corner!

Check your neighborhood's parks and green space for these little guys in the trees and get ready for some delicious mulberries in June.

Heads up for parents and pet owners..the ticks are out already, and there are some super small ones.

Actual size was about a millimeter.

We found this guy on our 10 month old baby tonight. We're pretty avid outdoors people, and it might be the smallest tick I've ever seen. Have fun hunting for ticks!

Today students from my Environmental Science course took a trip to the Forest Exploration Center to work on their tree identification skills.

LEAF Wisconsin K-12 Forestry Education has great resources for educators, including a fantastic dichotomous key my students used to identify Sugar Maple vs Red Maple, White Oak vs Swamp Oak, and Beech vs Elm.
