McCarter Transit began in 1974 when Jon and Beverly McCarter purchased the Blackhawk School District school bus contract from Blair Ferguson. In 1975, the Beaver Falls School District contract was purchased from James Rhodes. In addition to providing school bus transportation for three local school districts, McCarter Coach & Tour expanded to Motorcoach travel in 1978 to offer these services: indi

vidual vacation tours to destinations throughout the United States and Canada; charter service for groups to travel to their favorite destinations; and setting up package plans for groups to travel together on sightseeing tours. McCarter Coach & Tour owns 15 deluxe motorcoaches (most have extra leg room because we leave out a row of seats), 80 school buses and 25 minivans. All equipment is replaced on a rotating basis. All of our coaches are wide-bodied, with climate control, reclining seats, DVD player, TV monitors, public address system and lavatory facilities. Our motorcoaches are MCI Renaissance. The Renaissance coach boasts a circular entrance stairway, improved sound and cooling systems, 4 additional step down seats for better viewing out the front windows. McCarter Coach and Tour has the highest possible safety rating based on the company's safety record and adherence to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Are you looking for Mr. Right? - Frank Lloyd Wright that is! Join us for The "Wright" Tour as we visit two of Franky Lloyd Wright's architectural masterpieces on Thursday July 18, 2024.

We begin our day with a tour of Kentuck k**b, a signature design of Frank Lloyd Wright. This house, situated just below the crest of the hill, appears to be almost part of the mountain itself. Kentuck K**b has been open to the public since 1996. Next, we head to Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural masterpiece in Western Pennsylvania for lunch and a tour. Fallingwater opened to the public in 1964 and immediately became an attraction to more than five million visitors. The unique feature of this home is that it was built over a waterfall. Once we have toured this architectural masterpiece we are going to visit the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. The Westmoreland Museum of American Art offers a place to share compelling and meaningful cultural experiences that open the door to new ideas, perspectives and possibilities. Comfortable shoes are a must as there is a lot of walking – no seats at Fallingwater.

Never forget our Heroes! Join us on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 as we head to Flight 93 Memorial and Que Creek Mines

This morning we pick up our tour guide and visit Flight 93 National Memorial in Stoystown, PA, including both the Memorial Plaza with the Wall of Names of the Heroes of Flight 93 and the Visitor Center dedicated on Sept 10, 2015. The exhibits in the Visitor Center bring back poignant memories as well as providing new insight into the events and the heroes of Flight 93. The Tower of Voices is now fully installed and a visit there will complete your visit to this touching memorial. We will each receive a commemorative magnet “Remember the Heroes of Flight 93”. An included lunch at the Coal Miners’ Café in Jennerstown, PA. Our next stop will be the Quecreek Mine Rescue site in Somerset, PA where on July 28, 2002 nine miners were miraculously rescued from 240 feet beneath the earth in a farmer’s field just outside of Somerset. We will hear of the events from the time the accident occurred until the last miner was brought up. A short stop at Moo Echo Dairy to check out a wide variety of bulk foods, baked goods, and a deli. Each passenger gets a small ice cream cone or cup. Our last stop before heading home is the Flight 93 Memorial Chapel in Stonycreek Twp. which was dedicated on the first anniversary of 9/11 as a remembrance of those lost on this tragic flight. Family members and others who wish to honor the heroes have donated many moving mementos. The monument entitled “Forever in our Hearts” is a 16-ton black granite obelisk and will be something you will long remember.

Belle Meade is dedicated to the preservation of Tennessee’s history, architecture, hospitality, and equestrian legacy. We will enjoy a tour of the mansion that tells the century-long history of Belle Meade through the stories and experiences of the Harding and Jackson families, as well as the women, men and children who labored here. We will also have a complimentary wine tasting followed by a plated lunch. We then head to the RCA Studio, built in 1957, RCA Studio B became known as the birthplace for the “Nashville Sound,” a style characterized by background vocals and strings that helped establish Nashville as an international recording center, located on Nashville’s Music Row. THE WILDS & LONGHORNS HEAD TO TAIL TOUR

Get up close and personal with wildlife in a customized tour bus built for adventure. Trained safari guides will share facts about rare and endangered animals, like rhinos and giraffe, as they roam, feed, and play in just under 10,000 acres if breathtaking pastures. Keep your camera near you, because you’ll be driving by camels, bison, painted dogs, zebras, Przewalski’s wild horses, rhino, banteg and many more! It’s an amazing experience you won’t forget. After our visit at The Wilds, we will head to Longhorns Head To Tail. The 75 minute interpretive tour rides the range over thousands of acres bringing cattle to the buses for close up viewing of Texas Longhorn, Dutch BueLingo, and African Watusi cattle herds. Each passenger will also get special “Cow Candy” to hand feed the cattle.
