Simple Blessings Cabin is nestled on 16 secluded acres in the rolling hills of eastern Monroe County between the IU campus and Nashville. It is newly renovated to offer rustic elegance that allows you to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. The space
Just a short distance off of Highway 46, drive up the 1/4+ mile private lane to discover this secluded 16-acre retreat. The cabin is made from hand
-hewn poplar logs harvested from the land in the 1970s. It has been lovingly restored to offer a kitchen with knotty hickory cabinets, stainless steel appliances, broken-edged granite countertops and a hammered copper sink. The open concept flows into the living room complete with a leather couch, hickory lodge rockers and a big, comfy "cow" chair. You can relax and watch the gas-burning log stove, the 48" flat-screen TV and the many different birds that visit the feeders out the picture window. The screened-in porch offers the perfect spot for a cup of coffee, glass of wine or a good book. There is also a 1/2 bath on the main floor. It has a front- loading washer and dryer for your convenience. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms and a full bath. The bedrooms each feature new, queen-size, extra gnarly, Aspen log beds from Colorado/Utah that we fell in love with! The highlight of the bathroom is the travertine tile and glass shower complete with a soothing rain-flow shower head. We have had a lot of fun finding unique lighting, including many chandeliers, that we put throughout the cabin and all on dimmers to add to the ambiance. "The outdoor space is such a peaceful, quiet, wooded spot." No neighbors, cars or people in sight. Deer, birds, squirrels and wild turkey abound. It is a place to reconnect with your spouse, family, friends, faith and nature. By design, the cabin does not offer Wifi, and many guests have mentioned that this is an unexpected bonus! The cabin has a good size yard with enough room to throw a football. There is also a fire pit, Adirondack chairs and some starter fire wood. You may enjoy walking the hiking trail that is well-marked around the property or down the lane if you want a good work out. Simple Blessings is located about 7 miles from Bloomington and 12 miles to Brown County's Nashville. There is unique shopping, dining, horseback riding, zip-lining, Brown County State Park, Lake Monroe, Lake Lemon, or Yellowwood Park all within a 15-25 minute drive. Bloomington is only a 15 minute drive. It has been rated one of the top cities for dining in the country! It is home to Indiana University that offers sporting and musical events all year long. The cabin would be the perfect spot for an IU game weekend, visit with your student or a trip to one of the many local wineries. Of course, you can also just hang out at the cabin and read, cook, watch a movie, make a fire or play the many board and card games included. We installed a park-style charcoal grill so bring your burgers and briquettes! We also have a coffee maker and Keurig available for your use. Guest access
