Dinner with a view. The covered eating porch that features an 8 foot rough on picnic table handcrafted by the owners, always has a breeze even on a hot summer day. From the grill to the table, the food will probably get cold because you’ll be dragging your feet to enjoy the view longer.

Hot tub with a view! My favorite way to start the morning is the sun coming up while relaxing in the hot tub. Unique cloud formations every day, you never know which you’re going to get. And give it five minutes and it will completely different. Evening seems to come a little bit later at the cabin. Probably the location on the mountain keeps things brighter a little bit longer than down in the lowlands. When you approach, the exterior lights will turn on automatically to light a path from your car to the entry door.

Nighttime is one of the best times at the cabin. Not only does it look great lit up, but you have a great view of the night sky with many more stars visible than in the suburbs.

Definitely put this on your list when visiting us in Blue Ridge. What an amazing operation. While apples are only right for picking for a number of weeks a year, they should make the most of it and people lineup to get into the orchards. Not pictured here is the wonderful store and bakery. Even if it’s not apple picking season, you need to make the bakery your first stop on your trip so you can stock up on all kinds of goodness to enjoy at the cabin.

Lake Blue Ridge is one of the nicest lakes in the state, even at peak season, It’s hard to call it crowded. There’s a couple of marinas that will rent you a boat for the day if you want to experience the water from behind the wheel. Otherwise, there’s a couple of publicpark areas that gives some lake access but don’t expect sand and beaches like the Florida coast. This is the end of September and the water was reasonably warm to swim in.

What can you say about a view like this from the hot tub on a cool crisp July morning? Oh yes, it’s going to be hot today, just like Atlanta but if you choose not to sleep in, you get a few hours of the best weather of the year every morning. And as soon as the sun goes behind the trees in the evening, the cool, dry air sets back in to give you another few hours of weather just to sit outside or take a walk without breaking a sweat, even in July and August.
