When you think of yachting in the Mediterranean, the Greek Islands are one of the first things you think of.

The stuff dreams are made of, with many a fine sailor trying their luck in the winds and waters of the modern day Atlantis.

Poseidon himself could not have done a better job etching this story.

I must share the tale of an extraordinary odyssey that unfolded on the azure canvas of the Aegean – the enchanting Santorini seen from the deck of a my yacht.

As my boat gracefully cuts through the cerulean waves, pushed gently by the Mistral, the ancient Greek gods whisper in my ears: you are one of the chosen.

The sea breeze carries whispers of ancient tales, the gentle fluff of the sails harmonizes with the lapping of waves, and the aroma of saltwater mingles with the promise of adventure.

Santorini, viewed from the deck, is not just seen; it's felt, heard, and smelled in every breath.

I basked in a symphony of hues during the nightly spectacle that is the Santorini sunset.

The sky transforms into a canvas, ablaze with the warm tones of gold, coral, and lavender.

From my top deck I saw the sun's descent into the Aegean, casting an ethereal glow upon the iconic white-washed buildings clinging to the cliffs.

A moment suspended in my mind, a masterpiece painted by nature.

Santorini's charm extends beyond its famous sunsets and clear blue water.

Navigate the yacht to secluded coves and hidden gems unreachable by land.

Dive into the crystal-clear waters, explore sea caves, and let the allure of untouched beauty capture your soul.

My boat becomes a vessel of discovery and freedom, unveiling Santorini's secrets one hidden bay at a time.

She was my private portal to Santorini's diverse landscapes.

Savoring the flavors of Santorini from anchor in her picturesque harbors and dining under the stars at waterfront tavernas. Indulging in the island's gastronomic delights felt almost scandalous and forbidden.

From freshly caught seafood to locally made wines, every meal echoed the millennia of Santorini's rich culinary heritage.

In the embrace of Santorini's charm, a chartered yacht transcends ordinary travel.

It's not just a journey; it's an immersion into a world where time slows, and every moment is a testament to the island's timeless allure.

To experience Santorini from your own boat is to embark on a voyage that etches itself into the fabric of your memories, creating a once-in-a-lifetime tale to be shared for generations.

Bon Voyage Young Odysseus

Huge question for you all:

What’s your favorite kind of catamaran?

Sail ⛵️
Power 🛥️

In the British Virgin Islands sailing cats seem to be more popular. They offer better stability and comfort for longer open water crossings.

Power cats are more popular in the Mediterranean as many people like to go slower and sit in luxurious areas such as St. Tropez and be part of the bourgeoisie.

So tell me, which one is your yacht?

Why sail a catamaran in the BVI?

The British Virgin Islands has always been and continues to be recognized as a world leader of great places to go sailing.

Since it became a major charter sailing destination in the early 70’s, you’d think that other cool new locations would have taken its place by now.

Not so.

The answer lies in its privileged geography and friendly people.

Let me lay it out for you in full detail.

This is a completely free guide that shows you what the BVI has to offer and why millions of people travel there each year on beautiful catamaran yachts.

Don’t take my word for it, read what these jolly travelers have to say.

Most of them were completely green before going on a cat, and now wouldn’t travel any other way.

A luxury cat in your own private harbor in the BVI.

It is designed by the famous artist Zaha Hadid and meant to inspire a new generation of energy saving and sustainable yachts.

I can’t wait to see her in person.

If you want to book a visit, send a DM and I’ll see what I can do.

I just did something I never thought was possible.

Ever since I was a young man in the cold and rainy north looking through National Geographic travel magazines and wondering what the warm tropics were like.

I would see gorgeous photos of luxurious yachts full of beautiful people anchored on pristine beaches.

And it was magical.

Who were these beautiful people? Where were these picture perfect beaches with clear blue water?

What was it like to have dinner on a yacht while watching the sunset over a stunning tropical sea?

And fate, it turns out, was a helpful player.

Actually it was a simple finance trick that turned the tides.

Because I have a lot of friends who have the same dream and goals, I had an idea.

An idea that removed the biggest barrier to a dream Caribbean Islands vacation:

Fracking the cost.

What I mean by this is changing the math to our favor.

The total cost of the yacht was $10000, but that’s not what I paid.

Because I brought a total of 8 good friends on the yacht.

So instead of paying a whopping 10k for the trip, it only cost $1250.

Which was the magic I needed to make the dream a reality and book the trip.

So for 1/8 the retail cost I was able to go on the yacht of my dreams and as a bonus shared it with people I care about.

And our memories will last a lifetime.

So now I am the one that can tell others about the magic of the Caribbean.

And this is truly priceless. 🏝️

Relaxation is something you earn, and cannot be purchased.

Calmness and peace comes after the work is done and obligations are fulfilled.

Just ask Christine.

She will tell you that there is no better feeling than relaxing on a cat in the Croatian islands while basking in the Mediterranean sun.

Because who can deny a transformational trip on a one of a kind vessel.

Bonus points if the yacht is spacious enough for each person to live in their own area.

So peace can be had by all, at any time.

And Christine will tell you that’s something money can’t buy.

Chartering a catamaran offers unparalleled luxury, privacy, and flexibility, making it an enticing option for a couple or family seeking a unique and unforgettable vacation experience in the.

But let’s face it, there is a lot that could happen and the cost is not insignificant.

Despite uncertainties regarding cost and potential risks, the benefits associated with a yacht charter outweigh the concerns.

These are the best reasons to consider chartering a catamaran:

1. Unparalleled Luxury and Privacy:
Chartering a yacht provides access to a private floating oasis with personalized services, gourmet cuisine, and top-notch amenities.

The Mediterranean's stunning coastline and crystal-clear waters offer a picturesque backdrop for an opulent vacation.

Enjoying an elevated level of comfort and privacy allows you to create lasting memories with your loved ones in an exclusive and exceptional setting.

2. Tailored Itineraries and Freedom:
A yacht charter offers unparalleled flexibility and freedom. Unlike traditional vacations, you can design a personalized itinerary that caters to your family's preferences. From exploring picturesque ports to discovering hidden gems along the coastline, every aspect of your journey can be customized.

This level of personalization ensures that you make the most of your time on the water, creating a vacation experience that is unique and unforgettable.

3. Variety of Activities and Destinations:
The Mediterranean provides an array of activities and destinations for a yacht charter.

Engage in thrilling water sports like snorkeling, diving, and jet skiing, or explore historic sites and vibrant coastal towns.

The region's diverse landscapes and rich heritage guarantee experiences that will captivate and inspire every member of your family.

Whether seeking relaxation, adventure, or cultural immersion, the Mediterranean offers something for everyone.

4. Professional Crew and Hassle-Free Experience:
Chartering a yacht comes with a dedicated crew committed to ensuring your comfort and enjoyment throughout the voyage.

Experienced professionals, including a captain, chef, and hospitality staff, navigate the waters safely and cater to your needs.

This level of service allows you to relax and indulge in the journey, as all logistical aspects, from meal preparation to itinerary planning, are taken care of.

5. Memorable Bonding Opportunities:
A yacht charter provides a unique opportunity for families to bond and create lifelong memories together.

Away from the distractions of everyday life, you can immerse yourselves in quality time with loved ones, strengthening relationships and forging deeper connections.

Engage in water activities, share meals on deck, or simply enjoy breathtaking sunsets. The intimate and serene atmosphere of a yacht fosters a sense of togetherness that is hard to replicate elsewhere.

6. Try before you buy:
A catamaran is an amazing ship that is easy to live on for weeks at a time. However the ongoing costs, upkeep, work, skipper certification and maintenance may not be for everyone.

And that’s ok.

Because chartering a cat removes all these hassles and leaves you with the freedom to enjoy the waters.

Zero headache means more relaxation.

And that’s the whole point of being on the yacht, to enjoy an amazing yachting experience and make memories for a lifetime.

I talk with a lot of folk out on the water… and some of them have some tall tales.

None so much as this fella, but the story is too good not to share.

And maybe he can teach the young whipper snappers a thing or two:

So there I was, a grizzled old man with a heart as weary as a worn-out saddle, setting sail on a catamaran yacht out of Croatia.

I reckon I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for, but I knew I had to find it. Something deep down inside told me that the answers I sought were out there, somewhere beyond the horizon.

As the wind kissed my weathered face and the salty scent of the sea filled my nostrils, I felt a flicker of excitement, mingled with a healthy dose of apprehension.

It was like stepping into the unknown, a leap of faith into a vast, uncharted territory.

But hey, what did I have to lose?

The crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea stretched out before me, endless and mysterious. It was like staring into the eyes of a beautiful woman, simultaneously alluring and terrifying.

And just like that, I set sail into the great expanse, with nothing but the wind as my guide.

Days turned into nights, and nights into days.

The rhythm of the waves became my lullaby, and the stars, my companions. The solitude was both haunting and liberating, as if the sea herself was whispering secrets only I could hear.

And then, my friend, something remarkable happened.

Somewhere amidst the dancing waves and the shimmering horizon, I found myself. Not the hardened old man you see before you, but the spirit of a young boy, full of wonder and dreams.

It was as if the sea had washed away the layers of bitterness and regret that had accumulated over the years.

I rediscovered the joy of simple things—a sunrise painting the sky in hues of gold, the laughter of dolphins as they danced alongside the yacht, the thrill of catching a fish with my own two hands.

The weight of the world lifted off my shoulders, and for the first time in ages, I felt alive.

I found a new reason to live, my friend, a reason as vast and boundless as the ocean itself. It was the realization that life is meant to be lived, not just endured.

That there's magic in every breath we take, if only we're willing to open our eyes and see it.

And so, as I sailed back to the shores of Croatia, my heart brimming with a newfound zest for life, I couldn't help but thank the sea for being my silent mentor, my steadfast confidante.

It had taken a voyage across those azure waters to remind me that the true journey lies within ourselves, and that sometimes, the answers we seek are right there, waiting to be discovered.

So young fellas, that's my tale.

A tale of an old man who set sail on a catamaran yacht and found far more than he ever imagined.

Life has a funny way of surprising us, don't it?

Now, tell me, my friend, what's your story?

Day 1:

Ahoy there, my dear diary! Today marks the beginning of my grand adventure sailing the stunning Greek islands. As I set sail on my trusty yacht, aptly named "Aegean Dream," I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement coursing through my veins.

The sun shone brightly, casting a golden glow upon the crystal blue waters that stretched out before me.

The gentle sea breeze whispered tales of ancient Greek gods and renowned philosophers, and I couldn't wait to immerse myself in this rich tapestry of history and natural beauty.

My first stop on this nautical journey was the island of Mykonos. Known for its vibrant nightlife and picturesque white-washed buildings, this island has long been a favorite among travelers.

As I approached the harbor, I marveled at the charming windmills that stood proudly on the hillside, a testament to the island's rich agricultural past.

After mooring Aegean Dream, I ventured ashore, eager to explore the narrow cobblestone streets of Mykonos Town, also known as Chora.

The bustling alleys were lined with quaint shops, inviting cafes, and stylish boutiques. I couldn't resist indulging in some retail therapy, treating myself to a beautiful handmade bracelet as a memento of this special journey.

As the sun began its descent, I found a cozy seaside taverna and treated myself to a traditional Greek feast. I savored every bite of the delicious moussaka, crispy souvlaki, and freshly baked feta cheese pies.

The locals were warm and friendly, sharing stories and laughter, and I felt like I had discovered a second home.

With a satisfied belly and a heart full of joy, I returned to Aegean Dream. As I lay down on the deck, gazing up at the starlit sky, I couldn't help but feel immense gratitude for this dream come true.

Tomorrow, I shall set sail once again, ready to discover new horizons and weave my own tales into the timeless fabric of Greece.

Day 2:

Oh, dear diary, today was a day straight out of mythology! I sailed across the Aegean Sea to the island of Santorini, a place renowned for its breathtaking sunsets and awe-inspiring landscapes.

As I approached the island, the sight of Santorini's iconic cliffs, adorned with dazzling white-washed buildings and blue-domed churches, took my breath away.

I navigated Aegean Dream to the picturesque village of Oia, perched atop the caldera cliffs. The narrow streets were a labyrinth, winding their way through a maze of charming shops, art galleries, and cafes.

I lost myself in the maze, stumbling upon hidden corners and secret viewpoints that offered panoramic vistas of the volcanic island and the endless sea beyond.

In the afternoon, I set sail once more, this time toward the island of Crete, the largest and most diverse of the Greek islands.

As I sailed along the coast, I couldn't help but imagine the legendary tales of the Minotaur and the labyrinth of Knossos.

The rich mythology of this land was palpable, and I felt like a small part of something truly grand.

Upon reaching Crete, I moored Aegean Dream in the picturesque harbor of Chania.

This charming Venetian town greeted me with its labyrinthine streets, adorned with colorful bougainvillea and ancient stone buildings.

I strolled through the bustling harbor, enjoying the sights and sounds of the local fishermen mending their nets and the aroma of freshly caught seafood wafting through the air.

As the sun began its descent, I found a tranquil spot on the beach and watched as the golden hues of twilight painted the sky.

The gentle lapping of the waves provided a soothing soundtrack to my contemplation. In that peaceful moment, I couldn't help but reflect on the incredible journey I had embarked upon.

Sailing these mythical waters and immersing myself in the rich history and culture of Greece was a dream fulfilled.

Day 3:

Rising with the sun, I set sail from Chania with a destination in mind—a hidden gem among the Greek islands, the island of Zakynthos.

This lesser-known paradise beckoned with its pristine beaches and turquoise waters.

As I sailed closer, the aroma of pine trees mingled with the salty sea breeze, creating a truly invigorating scent.

Upon reaching Zakynthos, I dropped anchor in the secluded bay of Navagio, renowned for its iconic shipwreck, which lay marooned on a pristine beach surrounded by towering cliffs.

The sight was as breathtaking as any postcard, and I couldn't resist taking a dip in the crystal-clear waters, feeling the cool embrace of the sea against my skin.

Later in the day, I ventured into Zakynthos Town, the island's capital. The town boasted a mix of Venetian and Greek architecture, with quaint squares and charming tavernas.

Wandering through the narrow streets, I stumbled upon St. Dionysios Church, dedicated to the island's patron saint.

Inside, I found a serene sanctuary, adorned with beautiful frescoes and an atmosphere of tranquility.

Day 4:

Today, my seafaring adventure took me to the beautiful island of Rhodes, where the spirit of ancient Greece intertwined with medieval grandeur.

The moment I entered the magnificent harbor, I was greeted by the imposing sight of the Palace of the Grand Master, a medieval fortress that stood proudly as a testament to the island's rich history.

Exploring Rhodes Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, felt like stepping back in time. The cobblestone streets were lined with Byzantine churches, Ottoman mosques, and grand mansions.

I wandered through the fortified walls, visiting the ancient acropolis of Lindos, and marveled at the grandeur of the Temple of Apollo, where philosophers and scholars once gathered to share their wisdom.

As the day drew to a close, I found myself perched on a rocky outcrop, overlooking the sea.

The sky transformed into a breathtaking canvas of oranges and pinks as the sun began its descent.

The beauty of this moment was unparalleled, and I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to witness such natural wonders.

Day 5:

Alas, my journey through the Greek islands is drawing to a close. Today, I made my way to the island of Corfu, a place of lush greenery and Venetian charm.

As I navigated the narrow channels, I couldn't help but be captivated by the stunning landscapes that unfolded before my eyes.

In Corfu Town, I immersed myself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Spianada, one of the largest squares in Europe.

The French-style arcades and elegant mansions harkened back to a bygone era. I explored the Old Fortress, perched on a rocky promontory, and gazed out at the panoramic views of the Ionian Sea.

In the evening, I joined a traditional Greek feast, complete with live music and lively dancing.

The locals welcomed me with open arms, and I joined in the festivities, dancing with newfound friends under the starlit sky. It was a fitting celebration, a culmination of the joy and wonder I had experienced throughout this extraordinary voyage.

As I sit here, my dear diary, with the gentle sway of Aegean Dream beneath me, I can't help but reflect on the immense beauty and cultural richness that Greece has to offer.

From the mythical islands of Mykonos and Santorini and from my family to yours ⛵️
