It's May, which means #BikeMonth has officially begun! Celebrate with us this month (and year round):
1. Next week, on 5/10 from 12-2pm at Seaport Common, we are hosting a Seaport Bike Month Celebration with Boston Seaport, featuring A Trike Called Funk, Landry's Bicycles, Bluebikes, MassBike, and Boston Cyclists Union. Pop by to dance, try out an e-bike, and learn more about cycling in Boston: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/seaport-bike-month-celebration-tickets-621087137347
2. Every Wednesday morning from April through September, we host free bicycle check-ups on Seaport Common. Make sure to sign up and keep your bike running smoothly. Learn more: at www.SeaportTMA.org/bike-seaport
3. Over the past few years, we have distributed 1000+ free bike lights. We also have reflective bands for additional visibility. Need a set? Stop by Bike Seaport and grab some gear.
4. Our webpage dedicated to navigating the Seaport by bike has a live map of every bike rack, Bluebikes station, and Fixit station in the Seaport, a link to join our Cyclists Listserv, and information on Bluebikes and Bike Seaport: www.seaporttma.org/by-bike
5. Challenge yourself to get around by bike this month. Log your trips at www.CommuteSeaport.com and automatically track:
1. Your carbon footprint
2. The # of miles you are riding
3. How much $$ you are saving by not driving
4. How many calories you are burning
How are YOU celebrating this month? Share with us in the comments. Happy riding! 🚲
We gave out free bike lights this evening at the Moakley Bridge. Bike safe and remember to wear lights!
