So here is my review of Norwegian's Pride of America! This is our third time on this beautiful ship. I had a group of 42 people and we had a fantastic time. We start In Honolulu and then visit Maui, Hilo, Kona and Kauai. All of the islands offer different types of excursions so that you can see many different options. This time we did zip lining in Hilo, beaches in Maui and Kauai, shopping in Kona and Luau in Kauai. I know many have said that the service is not up to par since they mostly employ Americans. This is the only cruise ship that is registered in the United States so they have to follow their employment rules. I found ALL the staff
very friendly. It was nice meeting people from places that I have visited. Met a server that lived in DC for 6yrs. We had a suite since we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and wow it was AWESOME! Our butler Gulsan took great care of us! Yes,
I know I am high maintenance but she delivered daily pitchers of ice tea and chocolate covered pineapple so I was happy!! Also because we were in a suite and they do not have a Haven area, we could eat breakfast and lunch at Cagneys. It was delicious. We ate at 4 of the specialty restaurants; Teppanyaki (very good, too much food),
Cagney's ( prime rib was great , Rob's filet was a little dry), Moderno Brazilian (omg all the different meat-I was in Heaven and the grilled pineapple was soooo good), and Jefferson Bistro (I had the Coq au vin-delicious and Rob's filet was awesome). We also ate two nights at the
Liberty restaurant which is one of their main dining rooms and both times food was delicious and service great. We also attended
the Luau in Kauai.
The pork was to die for and the show was great. The entertainment in the evening is good not great but to be honest, you don't really care because you are on the go so much you are pretty tired at night. I was asleep about 10pm every
night (so much for being my usual night owl). I think I was up every morning before 7:30 and for those of you that know me know that I am NOT a morning person.
I highly recommend this cruise as it gives you an opportunity to explore all
the islands and only unpack once. If you have any questions, let me know.
