A spectacular sunset creates blue, orange and purple hues in the sky over Mandalay National Wildlife Refuge in Louisiana.

The refuge encompasses more than 4,000 acres of freshwater marsh, cypress-tupelo swamp and man-made canals. Its waterways and wetlands, bordered by ridges forested with oak, cypress and gum trees, provide habitat for a wide array of wildlife, including the American alligator, bald eagle and thousands of migratory waterfowl. Visitors can enjoy fishing, boating, wildlife viewing and photography.
