🧮 Turtle Totals are back for the start of summer! This newest batch of preliminary numbers shows we've reached 426 nests laid on St. Johns County beaches and 260 more false crawls. No hatchlings boiling out of their nests yet, but it's only a matter of time!

Don’t let accessibility hold you back from visiting St Augustine. They have done an amazing job with all sorts of things in place from special passes to accessible transport with lots of parking lots of beach ramps, free beach wheelchairs with 3 day advance reservations and we even have two mobi mats now for beach access! One is on Anastasia Island where the house is and the other one is on Vilano. Our private, neighborhood walkover ramp has been redone with zero stairs.

While we aren’t fully ADA compliant, Reel Treasure St Augustine has large parking areas, zero step entryways and a large king bedroom and bath on the first floor which has been appreciated by quite a few of our guests with different accessibility needs to enjoy their stay, including my mom🤩

We have a diverse range of bird species that frequent our Native Bird Rookery! Our Rookery Blog is a valuable resource for learning more about the different birds and staying updated on the populations at the Zoo. The peak nesting season runs from March to June, and with the Photographers Pass, you can enjoy exclusive access to the Rookery before and after the zoo's regular operating hours.

Coming Up: Typically, in March the Great Egrets and Wood Storks continue to flock in. Most of the Great Egrets are nesting and incubating eggs, while the Wood Storks are beginning to process. By late March, chicks are starting to hatch! Snowy Egrets, Little Blue Herons, and Tri-colored Herons are also arriving and nesting. Roseate Spoonbill chicks are possible, too!
