When new guests realize they get a whole lot more here than just lodging... canoe, kayaks, paddleboards, firepit and firewood, hammock, etc. It's great to see people enjoying the property.

Exciting news for us! A new coffee and pastries truck will be opening soon on the lot at the end of our camp road. Sierra Leavitt is an experienced barrista, and we can't wait to try some of the goodies she creates.

July weekday special: For the weeks Sunday 7th through the morning of Friday the 12th and Sunday the 14th through the morning of Friday the 19th of July, if you book 3 nights at our waterfront studio, (king bed, and a twin bed - open and spacious, air conditioned) - you'll get a 4th night free. It's 45 easy minutes of scenic driving from Skowhegan, with a river to float, lake to swim, mountains to hike, fishing spots galore, and waterfalls to see. When the seasons are 'on' in the Forks area, it is amazing how many options there are for good food. The snow is here, and it's good snow. The season is now 'ON'. Whether you are coming up for snowshoe adventure, snowmobiling, exploring the woods on cross country skis, there will be access to great food. If you don't feel like a sit down dinner, but want some comfort food, Berry's General Store has you covered with their takeout menu on the weekends. The wintry view from the Studio Apartment is pretty special. It's booked for the winter, but we are taking reservations now for Spring through Fall of 2024.

One of the things air bnb hosts tend to do is share the horror stories of renting with each other. Sure, we've had the occasional uncomfortable moment of an unhappy guest, almost always about something beyond our control, such as the weather, etc. Or those times we've opened the door to clean, and there were some basic etiquette rules broken. But our experience has been 99.99% positive. It's been what I envisioned; hosting and meeting nice people who want to relax in a calm, peaceful environment, people who want to explore the woods and waterways of our area, or people who just need a great place to get together with friends or family. Some lovely guests from Pennsylvania left us these custom made travel tumblers and water bottles, with a photo taken from our property. We've met some cool, thoughtful people during the last 5 summers of hosting.

Our special property, full of fun, no doubt, can also be a place of quiet reflection. I sit here this morning, listening to birdsong that makes me feel as though I'm in the rain forest. The breeze is ruffling the poplar leaves, and I'm not hurrying with a second cup of coffee while I look out at the finally still water, after more than a month of rainy days. There is history here. These are the lands of the Wabanaki. Before them, this was ocean. This rock, and many like it, are on the property. Layers of seashells embedded, capturing proof of memories not our own.

Patiently waiting for the Ann Labonte Caratunk resort takeover. 10 of her closest friends in both the cottage and the apartment. Bring on the adventures. Rafting and relaxation are in order.

Just so you know: we have two rentals on this beautiful property at the top of Wyman Lake. One is this beautiful large, over the garage studio, with a king bed and a single bed, and the other is the Cottage on the Kennebec, a cute little cottage that sleeps 5, snuggled in the trees, looking out at the water, and featured on the television show 'Maine Cabin Masters', season 2. More and more return customers are booking out both of them to bring their extended families or friend groups so they can all enjoy a private waterfront property together. I'll post the link to the studio apartment in the first comment, and the link to the cottage in the second. Check out the calendar for available dates. You can book on Airbnb, or vrbo, or you can reach out directly via messenger, and save the fees.

The evening peepers and the morning songbirds have arrived. When you book time in our large studio apartment over the detached garage, you get a water view, the run of the entire property, including chickens to watch and kitties to pet, if you feel like it. The early evening is for watching the world turn gold, and maybe catching a fish or two. Use the canoes, or kayaks, or just relax in the chairs by the water. Message for info, or call 207-672-4099.

In case you aren't familiar with our special location of our air bnb studio apartment, here is a satellite photo. The red dot shows where the Studio over the garage is. The yellow dot is where the cottage is. Mike has 7 open dates remaining for guided fishing trips in June, and we are still honoring the special offer of 'book a guided full day fishing trip and one night stay, get the second night free' for both the cottage and our Studio over the garage apartment. If you have a large group, you can book out both places and spread out and have the property all to yourselves. If you are not looking to fish and just wanting to come play: we include canoes, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, firewood for the fire pits, and more.
It takes about 2 hours to float from the access point in the West Forks to our front lawn. It's a great family activity.

For all you fishermen/women out there, we are running a special in Late May and June for select dates. Mike has a few dates still open for fly fishing trips. If you book a full day fly fishing trip with Mike, and one day in our waterfront studio apartment, you get a second night free. This special is good for the following dates:
May 30 and May 31 nights, fish either of those days
June 5 and 6 nights, fish either of those days
June 13, 14 and 15th, choose from those days to stay and to fish
Fish June 19th and choose to stay 18/19, or 19/20
June 15-28th for fishing and apartment open for any of those dates.
