Puerto Plata you were BEAUTIFUL!😍

This was my first time visiting the Dominican and we will definitely be back! This port was probably the most well kept I’ve ever been to and loved the free lazy river and pool if you didn’t want to do an excursion.

Which cruise line has the BEST private island?! Well it depends on what you’re looking for!🌴

🏊🏻‍♀️If you don’t love the beach, some islands feature a pool!

🏖️Some have more natural beauty where others feel more commercialized with waterparks etc.

👧🏼 Want childcare on the island so you can relax at the beach with your spouse? Some cruise lines feature kid’s activities right on their island!

🌙 Enjoy a late port stay with evening entertainment on the beach? You’re in luck with two cruise lines!

🛥️ Do you get sea sick easily? Not all private islands have piers. Infact one cruise line requires you to tender.

Let’s talk about the Norwegian Breakaway!
I hopped on a quick 4-night sailing to see all this brand had to offer first hand and I will say I was thoroughly impressed!

Things I 🩷

🛳️ The ship was very well maintained. This ship was built in 2011 and it was obvious that Norwegian takes great care of their ships.

🍽️ Main dining was better than Royal and Carnival and the specialty dining was FANTASTIC! I dined at La Cucina and Cagney’s on this sailing as well as 2 Main Dinings, and O’Sheehans, their 24 hour pub.

🌊 The waterfront area was unlike anything I’ve seen on other cruise lines with outdoor dining and bars. Such an amazing way to end the day with dinner by the ocean.

💰Free at Sea is great value that includes your beverage package, specialty dining meals, WiFi, and shore excursion credits.

🎶 Entertainment was amazing! Syd’s Pour House was our favorite but there truly wasn’t one thing we disliked.

🧗Ropes course including zip lining and walk the plank were included and so much fun. No wait even on a sea day!

Things I didn’t 🩷

🛥️ Their private island, Great Stirrup Cay, is a tender port. Not a big deal just takes time and planning. Island was beautiful so it was a deal breaker just noteworthy.

🥤 No freestyle or soda machines leaving not only bar drinks but also sodas being made at the bars overloading bar tenders and creating longer wait times for drink service.

👙 The adult only pool area was a huge miss. No shade at all, few chairs, and no pools. 2 hot tubs, but in 90 degree weather I’d prefer a pool.

💻 WiFi was slow and free at sea only includes 75 mins of internet. Would recommend upgrading to free at sea plus for unlimited if this is important to you.

Overall, I was very happy and impressed with Norwegian! Would definitely take my family back and recommend it to clients. Make sure to check out my NCL highlight bubble and then let me know what questions you have. I would love to talk to you and see if NCL is right for your next vacation!!
