Thanks to many folks donations we were able to bring 20 five gallon jugs of water, 30 bales of hay, needed supplies like batteries, wipes, etc and hundreds of dollars worth of human food, pet food and livestock feed. I didn’t manage to capture pictures of just everything we brought before it was loaded up into pick up trucks to go to the farmers directly. We plan on making another trip in about a week or so. Farmers are desperate for hay! It’s going to be a rough winter for many.

There’s lots of places like this set up - some by locals like these kind folks at a farm in Fletcher, NC. Tons of community pulling together. We saw search and rescue many times. We saw countless helicopters. We saw a big cargo plane landing, bringing in supplies. It’s going to be a long recovery process. Many places won’t ever return to how things were - many places are just gone.

I’m happy we were able to get supplies directly into the hands that need it. But my heart is so heavy still.

Thank you to everyone who has donated! We are still looking for more water and other listed supplies for our friends farm in NC. We will be heading out mid morning Friday.

10/02/2024

We are going to be headed up to NC with our truck and trailer on Friday 10/4 to bring some friends much needed supplies - particularly hay and feed for their animals. If anyone has anything they want to donate - you can drop off at the farm or the store in Dahlonega. Hay, straw, bedding, dog/cat food, water, and of course any human shelf stable food or food that is ready serve, any supplies like batteries, gas, gas tanks, etc would go a long way too. I’m waiting to hear updated needs and will share once I know more.

Well we lost power this morning around 11am, but otherwise all animals are good! A tree fell over a fence line and there’s some flooding, but no buildings damaged. Still rainy and windy though so still potential for more trees to come down. But it’s supposed to clear up soon and hopefully power is restored shortly! We got lucky this time!

Life has been so chaotic, I’m always behind in making social media posts these days! But I had to make sure to shoutout to the folks that help us, like Andrew our friend from who every year has helped us bring in our hay. A majority of our animals eat hay, and the ability to grow our own is so vital to our operations. But without help picking the bales off the field - we would be stuck doing it all ourselves. With my physical health only getting worse with time, I can only do so much! Beyond thankful for those in our community that help! Shoutout to our new friend Brandon for his help too!
