Our herbalism classes this summer have been so wonderful ✨ Don’t miss our next one on September 28th where Rosemary will be teaching a class on making Fire Cider!

Gotta love it when I’m in the middle of teaching a Chicks 101 class and a duck shows up with three new ducklings! Due to our predator load on our pond where the ducks live, we have to scoop up any babies and put them in a brooder. Otherwise they get eaten by snakes and snapping turtles 😢 This is the second set of ducklings we’ve scooped up this summer. I know there’s at least two more nests, so likely will get some more sweet duckies soon ❤️🐤🦆

I’ll be doing a walkthrough video soon explaining what each of the areas will be - but here’s a quick peek of Koda Bear and me checking out the barn after the framing was finished. It looks sooooo good! These goats are going to be so happy (they had better be!!) ❤️🐐

The two groups of kids meeting for the first time and being let out of the stalls. This is the first day the kids were really “awake” - sometimes it takes them a few days to start hopping around. It’s hard work being born! Both moms are first timers, and will have to adjust to their kids running around everywhere - you can hear their worried sounds in these videos. They will figure it out together ❤️ #sistermoms
Video ID: five baby goats run around and hop and jump with each other, while the two moms look on and make worries sounds.

Shearing day for Schmee 🦙 Llamas need to be shorn generally every 1-2 years depending on the breed/fiber. We probably could have gone another year without doing him, but with the heat and humidity only getting worse due to climate change, we are moving to a yearly schedule. He got a nail trim today too 💅

I love moving the goats to new pastures.

Sometimes we let mama hens raise up their chicks rather then putting them in a brooder. It’s pretty neat to watch them teach their chicks all about being a chicken. Here Natasha is showing her chicks how to dust bathe. Chickens take dust baths to help remove any external parasites as well as to keep clean by removing excess oils etc.
