Country music star T. Graham Brown will take the stage as the headliner for the 12th Annual International Cowpea Festival and Cook-off presented by Bush Brothers & Company and set for Saturday, Sept. 14, in the Hoyt Berry Park in Charleston, TN! 🤩

This year, Brown was invited to join the legendary Grand Ole Opry. Brown first entered country radio with a sad, soulful Top 40 single “Drowning in Memories.” He quickly followed with chart-topping hits like “I Tell It Like It Used To Be,” “Hell and High Water,” and “Don’t Go To Strangers.” Brown has had three Number One hits and 10 Top 10 singles.

His collaborations are many, most notably a CMA Award-winning release with George Jones, “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair.” His first-ever Gospel album, "Forever Changed," earned him a Grammy nomination. One of the songs on the album, “He’ll Take Care of You,” paired him with Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill.

Over his storied career, Brown has made cameos in several movies, television shows and commercials. His iconic voice told us to “Run for the Border” in Taco Bell commercials. Brown says it was a fun time and he had more than his share of Meximelts and Nachos Bell Grande.

He currently lends his voice and all of his experiences as host of a radio show called Live Wire on Sirius XM’s Prime Country, Channel 58.

Brown just released a new album on August 2, "From Memphis To Muscle Shoals," and it features collaborations with friends including Delbert McClinton, Dwight Yoakam, Wynonna, Sammy Hagar, Zach Williams and Tanya Tucker.

“I’ve got a band and a bus, and I’ll keep taking the music to the people as long as God lets me. It’s what I love to do!” Brown said, as quoted on his website tgrahambrown.com.

The Cowpea Festival kicks off at 10 a.m. with activities throughout the day including live music with a full line-up slated. The Whirlpool Cowpea Cook-off tasting is set for 2-5 p.m. and the cook-off crowd favorite will be announced at 5:45, just after the The Jim Wood Band and before Brown takes the stage at 6 p.m.

We will be announcing the entire schedule for the day soon and you can count on a great variety of country and bluegrass styles that everyone will enjoy!

Admission to the festival is $5 for adults with kids 15 and under free.

The Cowpea Festival is a project of the Charleston-Calhoun-Hiwassee Historical Society and the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from the festival fund the operations of the Hiwassee River Heritage Center, which opened in May 2013 and is located on U.S. Highway 11 in Charleston.

Have you ever wondered where a loofah comes from? We recently visited Loof'n Round Gardens to find out! That's right, Loofahs are grown on a farm right here in Cleveland, TN! 😯🥒

We learned that loofahs are actually a type of gourd! They start out as green, cucumber-like vegetables on vines. Once mature, they're dried out to reveal the fibrous interior! When you visit the farm you can find several products make from the loofah including: bathing and cleaning scrubs, skincare, tea, seeds and more!
