Market expectations are equally split on whether the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates by 25 or 50 basis points at their upcoming meeting next week. The current fed funds rate is between 5.25% and 5.5%. While data dependence is key for this market, the market would likely appreciate indications that the Fed is also considering forecasts more closely, especially as inflation trends downward and policy changes take time to impact the economy. Just as important are the homebuilder stocks like Toll Brothers, Lennar and D.R. Horton. In fact, Doug Yearley, CEO of homebuilder Toll Brothers was quoted: “If we have three [Fed] cuts in the fall ... we should have a 30-year fixed, no-point mortgage in the 5s, and look out. … The market should take off.” Stay tuned investors!

On this day, 23 years ago, the world changed forever. We witnessed unimaginable tragedy and loss, and we also saw incredible courage and resilience. September 11, 2001, wasn't just an attack on the United States—it was an attack on peace, freedom, and humanity.
In the aftermath, the world united to fight against terrorism. Governments, organizations, and individuals came together to enhance global safety, tighten security, and prioritize the protection of innocent lives. The lessons learned from that day shaped the future of global security, making the fight against terrorism an international priority.
But beyond the policies and strategies, 9/11 reminded us all of the fragility of life and the strength of the human spirit. We remember the heroes who risked everything to save others. We honor the victims who will never be forgotten. And we continue to strive for a world where peace prevails over violence.
Today, as we reflect on this day of sorrow, let's also renew our commitment to making our world safer, kinder, and more united.

Understanding the Core PCE Price Index: The core PCE price index is a way to measure how much prices are changing for things people in the U.S. buy. It's like a big report card that tells us whether stuff is getting more expensive or not.
Why Should You Care?
Think about the money you get from your allowance or a part-time job. You use it to buy things like snacks, clothes, and maybe some gadgets. If prices go up but your allowance or paycheck doesn't, you can't buy as much. The core PCE price index helps us understand this change in buying power.
What's in the "Core" Part? The word "core" means we leave out some things that can have wild price swings, like food and energy (think gas for cars). By focusing on the "core" items, like clothing, electronics, and medical services, we get a better sense of the long-term trend of prices.
Why Do Prices Change? Supply and Demand: If a lot of people want to buy the latest phone and there aren't enough to go around, the price goes up.
Production Costs: If it costs more to make stuff because wages or raw materials get pricier, those costs can be passed on to consumers.
Government Policies: Taxes, tariffs, and regulations can also affect prices.
How is it Calculated? Economists look at a huge variety of goods and services, tracking how their prices change over time. They use a formula to average these changes out, giving us the core PCE price index.
Why is it Important? For You: It affects your buying power. Higher prices mean you can buy less with the same amount of money.
For the Economy: It helps the government and businesses make decisions. If prices are rising too fast (inflation), the Federal Reserve might take action to slow it down by raising interest rates.
The core personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index — the preferred inflation measure of central bankers is published Friday. The consensus May estimate calls for an annual increase of 2.6% on both headline PCE and the core rate (excludes often-volatile food and energy prices). Stay tuned!

Why do stocks split? On Monday, June 10, 2024, NVIDIA (NVDA) will perform a 10-for-1 forward split. You'll be impacted if you hold NVDA prior to Friday, June 7 at 8 PM ET.
NVDA will be unavailable on the 24 Hour Market on Sunday, June 9.
The number of shares you hold will increase by 10x, and the price per share will decrease by 10x.
For example, if you own 1 share of NVDA worth $1,000 on June 7, after the split you’ll own 10 shares of NVDA worth $100 per share for a total value of $1,000.
The split is a corporate action taken by NVIDA. A split like this helps people that otherwise would be intimidated to buy shares (currently priced at over $1000 per share) to invest at a much lower price point. This will likely result in price action favoring the bulls. Stay tuned!

When you're in the umbra during a total solar eclipse, day turns into an eerie twilight. This dramatic event occurs in a relatively narrow path on the Earth's surface.
The infrequency of total solar eclipses in any given location is due to the Moon's tilted orbit around the Earth. This tilt means that the alignment of the Earth, Moon, and Sun needed for a total solar eclipse is a rare occurrence. While total solar eclipses happen approximately every 18 months somewhere on Earth, the chances of it happening in the same location are about once every 375 years. So, experiencing a total solar eclipse is a once-in-a-lifetime event for most people, unless they travel to chase eclipses around the globe.

Let's discuss monetary policy and fiscal policy. Super exciting right?
Monetary policy is all about managing the country's money supply and interest rates. This task falls under the domain of the Federal Reserve, often called the Fed. The Fed is like the captain of a ship, steering the economy by controlling how much money is floating around and how expensive it is to borrow that money. The Fed has several tools at its disposal, such as setting the interest rates, conducting open market operations (buying and selling government securities), and changing the reserve requirements for banks (how much money banks need to keep on hand and not lend out). The main goals of monetary policy are to control inflation (keeping prices stable), manage employment levels, and ensure long-term interest rates remain moderate.
On the other hand, fiscal policy involves the government's use of spending and taxation to influence the economy. This is the realm of Congress and the President. You can think of fiscal policy as how the government decides to spend its money and how it collects that money (through taxes).
The primary tools are government spending (on things like roads, schools, and defense) and taxes (what the government collects from individuals and businesses). Fiscal policy aims to fuel economic growth, reduce unemployment, and control inflation. Monetary policy is controlled by the Federal Reserve, an independent entity, while fiscal policy is determined by the President and Congress. Monetary policy manipulates the money supply and interest rates, whereas fiscal policy adjusts government spending and taxation levels. The Fed can adjust monetary policy relatively quickly, responding to economic changes in real-time. Fiscal policy, however, takes longer to implement because it involves passing legislation, which can be a slow process. Both policies aim to stabilize the economy, but they do so through different mechanisms and with varying degrees of directness and speed.
