The Bayside Bungalow is an all-season vacation home located in the heart of ‘Bearadise’ on Beautiful Crane Lake, in Northern Minnesota. While the road literally comes to an end in the small town of Crane Lake, the infinite vacation options only just begin here, as Crane Lake is the south entry point of the Voyageur’s National Park and gateway to thousands of acres of untouched wilderness, and the

Superior National Forest, which includes miles and miles of pristine open water flowing from Crane Lake, to Sandpoint, Namakan, Kabetogama, and all the way up to Ash River, Kettle Falls and Rainy Lake. Crane Lake is truly the recreation epicenter for Boating, Fishing, Hiking, ATV-ing, Snowmobiling, Snowshoeing, Cross-Country Skiing, and infinite exploration opportunities. You are close to fine and fun dining offered by a plentitude of nearby resorts, restaurants, and bars where you can also shop for unique gifts and clothing and enjoy live music during select times of the year. Here at the Bayside Bungalow, you will enjoy your own private paradise, which includes amenities such as:
• A large 8-foot-wide lighted private dock with safety rail and 50-ft power cord to conveniently charge your trolling motor, or mobile phone if you just want to hang out on the dock all day.
• The dock is situated on the east side of the channel near the mouth of the large bay but tucked in just enough to be protected from the wind, waves, boats, and sea planes for your kayaking and paddle boarding safety and pleasure.
• The Bayside Bungalow is the only place on Crane Lake with a gated yard to keep your kiddos and well-behaved pets safe.
• Directly out the front door, you are walking distance to the DNR public launch where there are no lines or fees to launch your boat. In a matter of minutes, watch your boat putter from the northeast side of the peninsula to the southwest side to your private dock.
• There is ample private parking for your vehicles and trailers (Boat, Snowmobile, ATV, etc.), which includes a large, covered carport to keep your vehicles safe, as well serve as a venue for your outdoor gathering plans when/if inclement weather springs up during your stay.
• In the event of a power outage, the propane fueled generator will kick-in automatically, with no disruption in service.
• Finally, the home itself is the place to be for all your comfort and pampering needs. o With a 4-night minimum stay, the per/night rates are based on a party of 4 but can comfortably accommodate 6-8 guests and have hosted as many as 10 on a few occasions.
• More detail on amenities:
o Two large bedrooms each with on suite baths. Beds:
o Two Kings, One full, Two full foldouts, Two full rollaways, and One full size air bed available on request. o The home has Central Air and Heat, ceiling fans, a cozy gas-powered fireplace, and a separately cooled/heated lake side porch, or just open the windows on the lakeside porch and let the breeze flow with or without the overhead ceiling fans. o The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking/baking needs, and includes a gas oven and range, ice-in-door refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and many small appliances – Toaster, Standard 12-cup, Keurig Single Brew, and French Press coffee pots, Griddle, Crockpots, Kitchenaid® Mixer, Bullet Smoothie Blender, etc. o Wi-Fi high-speed internet, and satellite TV in all rooms. o Two full baths, and just off the main entry, there is a laundry room with a convenient 3rd toilet and sink. o The entry porch is a good place to store your luggage and coolers, and there is a large kennel there for your pet if you forgot to pack yours. If it is wintertime, there is a bin filled with whole corn with a bucket and scoop you may use to toss corn out on the road for the herd of deer who like to visit at breakfast and dinner time. You will have your own private 4-digit code to enter on a lighted touch screen for access to the main entry during your stay and one press on the Schlage Logo button locks the door behind you when you’re away. o Finally, for your safety, the property exterior (doors and docks) is equipped with 24/7 surveillance. At no time is your privacy compromised, but you can rest assured that your property, kiddos, and pets, are safe and secure. To view the Property, Home, and Sights, click on the photo albums

Time for a long over-due post from the Bayside Bungalow of Crane Lake, MN.

For most of Bayside Bungalow’s friends and followers, this post can be filed under, “Yesterday’s News”, but for people still thinking about booking a getaway and are wondering about availability and rates, a 90-day availability calendar is included in this post.

In the “Yesterday’s News” department, we are thankfully on the other side of the Once-In-A-Lifetime, 1916 Record-Breaking, Epic Flooding of this past spring, 2022. While I hope to never see or lift another Pallet, Cinder Block, or Sandbag, or live in bib-waders for 14-hour days of cold, wet, muddy, gnat biting, back breaking misery, I never wish to forget the memory of all the local heroes who rose to the challenges to help each other and support our community. People showed up and helped each other, including early on those who helped the Bayside Bungalow.

I could fill a page naming everyone; many of whom have been named in many other posts, so I will focus on those amazing friends and neighbors who made their way over before I could even pickup up the phone.

o Stu and Jim McKie for lassoing and securing my south dock before it could float away.
o Harvey Parvi and Trent Bak brainstorming along with Stu McKie on “MacGyvering” slip-on tubes over the disappearing dock pylons.
o James and Margie Nelson for Sump Pump rescue
o Darrell and Carole and Kristen Scott for temporary access through private property for Bayside Bungalow guests when the road was impassible.
o Paul Tufte for forklifting sandbags into my trailer.
o Dave Beckmann for checking on property when his own property was underwater completely.
o My Friend, Brian who helped me with supplies, trailers, and “MacGyvering” an exhausted broken sump pump and assembling floor pumps in the basement.
o And last but in no way least, THANK YOU to my amazing and gracious guests who were not only brave enough to keep their reservation even after I sent videos of the water consuming the yard to the point fish were swimming in it, but they went out of their way to make me feel like they were enjoying the adventure, complimenting me on the pallet walkway and dock bridge. Such troopers and memories to last a lifetime.
o Kendra Lynn and Rand Olson and Destine Borchardt (the FIRST guests at the deepest point),
o Dave and Sandra Hartmann and Jeff Diiro and Nancy Lunneborg and their furry family members who ‘made do’ with a much smaller patch of yard.
o Valerie Flacco-Nesselroad and James Nesselroad who could go anywhere on vacation but drove all the way from Illinois to come back to the Bayside Bungalow as they have in the past 3 years.
o And finally, first time guests, Jim Brown, and his party, including Master Plumber, “Billy” not only took the impacts of the receding flood in stride, but just as we were breathing a sigh of relief that the worst of the flood impacts was “over” found themselves coming to the rescue when the 350-ft deep well pump and pressure tank chose a Sunday (half-way through their stay) to die. Between their expert troubleshooting, communication, and amazing help from Dave Beckmann and incredible responsive service from Froe Bros Drilling, the Bayside Bungalow was back to optimum operating within 5-hours of their “no water!” discovery.
o To my guests staying there now and those coming over the next 7-weeks, I hope you are enjoying how reservation timing worked out a little better for you unless of course you like kind of “thrills” that come with epic flooding.

The Bayside Bungalow is pleased to share another post about the adorable family who have just enjoyed a Bayside Bungalow getaway and were the recipients of the $100 “Pay-It-Forward” credit made possible by “Gary & Eunice”.

It all seems so fitting that the couple who had to forego their 53rd wedding anniversary vacation, were able to help make a young family’s vacation just a little more special with their reservation deposit that they donated to the Bayside Bungalow, which the Reynertson’s were able to put back in to the community, such as dinner at Trails End, Pizza at Echo Trail Tavern, Ice Cream at Handbergs Marine, and of course, fishing Minnows from Anderson Outfitters.

It takes a village, and I am so proud of the community who all helped the Reynertson Family make amazing vacation memories.

Thank you, Gary & Eunice, and Crane Lake, and of course, the Reynertson Family.

If you want to follow in the joyful vacation footsteps of the Reynertson family, there are still openings left on the Bayside Bungalow calendar posted below. Come to enjoy the final days of fall, or if snowmobiling is your thing, our winter-wonderland is just around the corner.

The Bayside Bungalow is an all-season vacation home located on Beautiful Crane Lake, in Northern Minnesota. A quick road trip away, it is your ideal ‘safe-cation’ destination. Watch the troubled times of pandemics and protests fade away in your rear-view mirror as you head for the peaceful community of Crane Lake, MN, and in no time at all you are pulling in to your private carport covered driveway.

From the Twin Cities, pack up your office at noon, and the next thing you know, you’re enjoying dinner on the deck of the Bayside Bungalow. As you savor your first night’s feast, you notice the firepit and deck-box filled with split wood next to it, and start to think about the gooey ‘S’mores’ you’re going to be enjoying for dessert, and how you will soon be sharing YOUR vacation stories around the campfire in the evenings to come.

While the road literally comes to an end in Crane Lake, the infinite vacation options only just begin here, as Crane Lake is the south entry point of the Voyageur’s National Park and gateway to thousands of acres of untouched wilderness, and the Superior National Forest, which includes miles and miles of pristine open water, from Crane Lake, to Sandpoint, Namakan, Kabetogama, and all the way up to Ash River, Kettle Falls and Rainy Lake.
