Fishing resort in Northern Minnesota "God's Country" at the edge of Voyagers's National Park. Each cabin has 3 or 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Boats are 16 ft.

Sherrick's Wilderness Resort is located on an island on beautiful Johnson Lake near Orr MN. We have 3 cabins to choose from which can accommodate 8, 12, or 17 people. Johnson Lake is surrounded by Voyager's National Park and Superior National Forest. It is connected to Spring Lake and Little Johnson, so you get 3 lakes of fishing for the price of one. Walleye, Northern, Smallmouth Bass, and Perch

are plentiful. Lake Trout and Whitefish are present. These are very limited access lakes, so there is very little fishing pressure. Groups of 6 or more qualify for the Fisherman's Special which is $550.00 per person for a 6 day stay. The cost covers portage to and from the island, housekeeping cabin, boat, and motor, (2-3 people per boat). The only extras are fuel for the boat and generator (usually runs about $50.00 extra per person), and taxes. Guests usually book a year in advance and we have very few vacancies, but we will try to accommodate anyone who calls. Groups have been coming to Sherrick's for 20, 30, and even 40 years in a row. Cabins have a propane stove, electric refrigerators, electric freezer, hot water, indoor flush toilets and showers, all your utensils and cookware, outdoor gas grill and fryer, and a fire ring. Lund or Alumacraft, and motors are 15 horse Johnsons. 3 larger boats are available to rent for an extra charge having 25 HP. motors, swivel seats, live wells, and depth finders. One pontoon is also available for an additional charge.

A celebration of life for Steve Metz will be held on his birthday, Saturday August 8th from 5p to 8p, at his father's pond, located at 3462 Van Wert Mercer County Line Rd., Rockford, OH.

It is with great sadness we are announcing the loss of our own Steve Metz. After a short battle of pancreatic cancer, he passed away peacefully in his sleep 7/29/20.

Anyone who knows Sherrick’s resort, knows the love Steve had for both the resort and fishing! He was a true one of a kind and for 23 years Sherrick’s Resort was blessed to have him as the Resort Manager.

His wishes of being cremated and spread on the stumps of Little Johnson will be carried out.

Please feel free to share your best Steve story in his remembrance here so others can enjoy them too. 💙
