Our Pelican Rookery Tour requires the use of a pontoon boat to get into the shallow waters of the nesting site. Many of the pelicans nest close to the waters which allows us to get very close without disturbing the site.

His work as a photographer is exceptional. Anyone who has seen his work can clearly see that. He captures the story of the island and its people for what it is. He is also a good writer, fisherman, and friend.
During one of my tours I had slowed down to talk to my guests about the oyster wars that happened in the same waters where we were traveling. Jay Fleming was behind us and shot this video with his phone when he was on his way over for one of his Smith Island photo workshops.
