Two things to keep in mind if you plan to visit beautiful Punalu'u Beach on the Big Island of Hawai'i; (1) The black sand is hot, so wear shoes! (2) Don't even think about touching or disturbing the turtles. They're protected by state and federal law and fines can reach thousands!
